09 Grammys Thread

It was cool that Robert Plant won an award and was able to go up there and accept. Time to move on.

I love Neil Diamond and I think it's time for him to retire.

Retire? What did he do...did he suck really bad or something? The man just had a number 1 album last year at age 70+... if BB King can still get up there and jam like he did tonight, then Neil should be able also (but i didnt see his performance so maybe he sucked really bad?)

Can't stand to watch that shlt!

"I want thank my mother, my sister, my agent, my God......... blah, blah, blah"

What was Whitney H. doing in the opening few minutes, what a freaking whacko, great example for the kids, super role model.

i watched it for Robert Plant and Radiohead and Paul McCartney. I thought Radiohead's use of the maching band was absolutely awsome and took the show up a few notches. Im not much of a Coldplay fan but I enjoyed their appearance as well......Neil Diamond...hmmm, I think it would have been cool for him to do a solo acoustic performance, playing solitary man or something....overall, it was one of the better grammy shows of recent memory...

Would have been quite the debacle if Coldplay one considering the current controversy.

Was nice to see Robert win.

Stevie and the Jonas bros. was utterly pitiful. Really guys.

Justin Timberlake and Al Green was pretty damn awesome except for a missed cue near the end.
Didnt mind looking at Katy Perry and Taylor Swift either.

OK, nice to look at, but brutal live performers. Swift is the absolute worst. Her on SNL recently was ridiculous. Grade-school variety show quality, IMO.

Sorry, I guess "retire" might be the wrong word. Maybe "Stop performing live" is better. He can't really breathe anymore so he abbreviates all his phrases and it's not really singing. The only thing that saved his part of the show was the fact that he's Neil Frickin Diamond. I also think it's unfortunate, because IMO they put him on the show because people wanna see a train wreck. Same for Whitney Houston. If there wasn't some famous person whacked out of their mind we wouldn't have all those YouTube clips and "Access Hollywood" and "TMZ" soundbites to keep the 'Grammys Ship' floating for a few extra days.
