Video file help needed
I have some autocross footage that was given to me on a DVD in .VOB format.
I was able to convert the file into .MPG and it plays fine in Window Media Player. When I try to import the file into Windows Movie Maker or Windows Media Encoder the file 'could not be imported'. I'm trying to edit out a 1 minute sequence which I will compress with WME and then post on YouTube. The file is currently 14 minutes long and 800mb's. ![]() My finished 1 minute clip should be 12-18mb's once it is encoded in .WMV format. I spent about four hours on this last night only to go to bed frustrated. ![]() Help me! KT

You may want to try using SUPER and converting your file to .AVI format. AVI's seem to be a little easier to work with, in my experience.
You can download it here. Randy

Many people do not realize that a format, AVI, MPEG, MOV etc can be compressed using different algorithms depending on the target use. What flavor of mpeg did you end up with, 1, 2, or 4?

I ended up using a program called 'Chopper XP'.
I was able to convert directly from a time start and stop point ( 7:20-8:20 ) and created a new .vob file. I renamed it .mpg and uploaded it directly to YouTube uncompressed ( 55mb ) Windows Movie Maker still won't see it, but Window Media Player will. Anyway, this is the one and only time I think I will have to deal with this format. ( given to me ) Here's the clip: KT
