Search is my friend. The latest screwball idea I have is selling the A3 and picking up a used FJ for off-road/camping duty, and finding a cheap Miata for occasional track days. A quick search indicates that there are modded ones under $5K around. Basically I don't care about the paint, etc, just good mechanicals.

Well, and a matching purse of course...

Can you tow a Miata without a trailer (ie with tow bar)?

Not sure about that but this http://www.cardomain.com/ride/286451/4 might help if you are looking to transport some tires.

I bought a 1990 miata late in '91 before they were 'labeled'. I sold it, to my dad, in 1993-4 and he's had it ever since. Today I think they have 90k on it and wanted to sell it back to me for ~3k. I passed because I wanted them to keep it and enjoy it. IF they were REALLY serious I probably would buy it back. Nice car for the money.

The quick answer is yes. I've seen many that were towed behind RV's with a tow bar.

I got to crawl all over this Miata a few weeks ago at a car show. Yeah, some of the bodywork is kinda ricer, but it's all aero work, with lots of lightening behind it.

And ITBs

Hmm looks like a straightline car.. now that motor in a properly setup suspension? I have those shocks on my CRX and they're..... less than optimal for even stock springs.

Hmm.. I've heard the lubrication in the transmission is driven off the input shaft, so flat towing it results in transmission issues.

What?! Racing Beat makes high quality parts, which part is Racing Beat? Everything after the AFM is Pep Boys pre-bent exhaust tubing cobbled together with radiator hose (hand cut even, look at the edges) and hose clamps. Based solely on the workmanship (or lack thereof) of the homemade intake, I'd be worried about the work that went into the engine swap. A poorly done motor swap can be a nightmare. Some of the other touches worry me as well, like the breather in place of the correct crank vent to the intake.

Also, what's with the unplugged connectors on/near the cam cover?

jtkzz's M-edition looks MUCH more appealing.

I really, REALLY wish I was in the market for another. I LOVE the tan leather interior and chin spoiler.

Nice car.

thanks for the comments

I bought that spolier from the Mazda dealer it is an original Mazda R spoiler, the rear R bottom lip spoiler is a reproduction since Mazda stop making them...

mine, I've since removed the tail and relocated the front license plate.

The first miata that ever really got my attention in '93 or '94 was a 1992 black and tan similar to this.
