Forget the cool collar - "Blade your ride" instead

http://bladeyourride.com/index.html

Some of my thoughts:
First off, the only way they can take more CO2 out of your exhaust is to make a more restrictive device than stock. That can't be good for your gas mileage. They just claim a 6 mpg fuel savings - but never explain how they get such savings. (Side note: one can easily save 6mpg by changing driving habits and styles.)

The CEO sounds like a fast talking used car salesman. Lots of fluff, but nothing substantial.

If such a cheap $200 device were so effective, dion't you think car makers would incorporate that into their exhuast system to more easily meet strict emssisions requirements?

From one of the videos, the CEO states: "We were very effective, we think in capturing particles in a very difficult area with high content sulfur diesel..." If I'm selling a product that works, I'm not going to say "we think we were successful..." I am going to back that up with substantial numbers.

Another interesting quote from the CEO: "So all we did was take that same technology (we developed for diesel motors) and bring it to a car. And immediately we saw that the filter material was getting filthy black." WHAT?!? So you claim that your product is lowering emissions based on the fact that the filter material you use turns black?!?

He does say that he did EPA testing that proved a reduction of CO2 emissions and an increase in gas mileage. But there are no study results or links to the EPA website proving this. (Sounds to me like someone saying "Yes sir - this beauty was driven by a little old lady 10 miles a month and was always properly serviced. It can be yours for only $9999.99...)

But then again, they have some Obama videos and quotes, so it MUST be endorsed by him, and it must therefore work!

Anyone with a basic understanding of how an internal combustion motor can see what Blade your ride is just full of hot smoke...

Am I missing something?

Discuss.

Would you give up the cool collar if it interferred with your snow tires?

My snow tires have never been "interferred" with, so, I'm not sure how I'd react.

Looks like it just increases backpressure.
Increased backpressure affects the AF mix.
Not new science. Just a new salesman.
