Spam?
Anyone else here a Spam fan?
Fried spam and eggs on Sunday morning with some Kings Hawaiian bread and a pot of strong coffee. Yowser. Recipes I have tried and recommend: Spambalaya Spam Enchiladas

I am also a spam fan, especially the fried spam and eggs. Also fresh out of the can for lunch. Not very creative about other recipes.
Best, Tom

I used to eat Spam when I was in the boyscouts. It was very tasty when cooked over a campfire, but I haven't had any in a very, very long time. I can't imagine eating it these days, although I don't know why.

I can't honestly say that I've tried it.
Isn't it just pork shoulder that has been smoked/seasoned like ham? I don't see anything wrong with that.

the regular recipe Spam is inedible to me..much too salty. the lower sodium is better. still overly salty, but over a pile of steamed rice, with sheets of nori (seaweed) on the side to "pinch" up misubi bites is great!

When I was a kid, before anyone had ever heard of things like fat and cholesterol, my mom used to make fried Spam sandwiches pretty regularly. Just browned strips with mustard on a hamburger bun, which she toasted in the spam grease.
Spambalaya sounds interesting, I usually use smoked sausage. May give that at try. Tom |

few weeks ago, i was picking up some korean food for my office lunch. i got my standard bi-bim-bap. some older korean guys were about to dig in. they ordered a fried rice made with kimchee and spam. it had a fried egg on top. smelled and looked great. about $5.

If you ever find yourself on I90 through MN, be sure to visit the SPAM museum.

Saw a report on the news a week or so ago that the SPAM factory is in full production 24/7 trying to keep up with the demand. Can't remember how many cans they turn out a day but it was a staggering number. Recessions / depressions are apparently very good for SPAM business.
Also, Hawaiians apparently love SPAM. Sell more in Hawaii on a per capita basis than anywhere. And yes, a couple of thick slices of SPAM fried in a skillet, some good cheddar cheese and Miracle Whip between two slices of fresh bread and a cold glass of milk.... doesn't get much better than that.... mmmmmmmmm. Per DHowards post, lettuce and tomato are optional.
