Wireless mouse
I needed a USB mouse and keyboard for my dad's new computer. I was taking one of our friends to Walmart, so I swung into the aisle for computer junk.
$10 for a Logictech wireless mouse. Man, why didn't I buy one of these things before? The only thing that would be better would be a bluetooth one.

They're great. If it's for a laptop, they have one that's got a low profile usb thingy that you can just leave in the usb port full time which is also nice.

I've been using the same wireless mouse by Microsoft for about 5 years, and 3 laptops. Never really thought about it until I saw this thread, but it really has been one of those "how did I ever live without it" type of products. Sometimes I've even pocketed it around the house and used it with the family desktop! Kids = sticky, yucky mouse, sometimes

I have one and it's very cool with no cord. But how many batteries have I gone thru in 4 years? Too many. I tried rechargeables and they suck.

I had a different experience with my Logitech wireless mouse. Drove me nuts so I went back to having a cord.

Logitech Media Mice. One for each computer. Eats 4-6 AA's per year. 15 buttons. Great ergonomics. Wish the smaller dongle worked with it.

I bought a laser one a while back but it's can't be separated from the computer more than 4 feet. Does anyone know any wireless can be around 10 feet aways from the computer?
Thanks.

This one is wireless, not laser. $10 and I haven't checked the distance. A bluetooth mouse should work at 30 feet.

This one works to about 10 or so feet, a little less with the dongle plugged in the rear USB slots instead of the side slot.

What problem do wireless mice solve? IMO, same problem that wireless keyboards solve. That is, nothing.

Cleaner look on the desk, no cords to get tangled up. I can lift the laptop to my lap, without a mouse falling on the floor, etc.

Wireless is nice, but nothing compared to the advent of optical mice. I couldn't imagine going back to a mouse with a ball and cleaning the crap off the rollers all the time.

So you are saying it's better when you plug the USB adapter to the side compare to the rear of the laptop, right?
