Abby's gone
Just posted the other day on the Dog Thread about her. I said "15 years old and going strong". I was wrong. With no sign of anything even remotely wrong, I came in the house and found her asleep on the couch. She was gone. Eyes closed, peaceful. It's the way I want to go. We're still heartbroken. Wish I'd have spent more time with her when I had the chance. She was fine this morning. Playful, ate her breakfast, cuddled with my daughter before school. Gone this afternoon.
Rest in peace my sweet girl. You helped us raise our three kids and were a cornerstone of our family. An absolute joy to live with. You'll always be missed. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1238110298.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1238110351.jpg |
Mike, I know your pain...it was last year this time that I put my 14 year old lab down. Beautiful girl, and 15 years is a long run...be well!

The best part of this BBS are the dogs and their owners, the joy and the heartache of loving dogs.
Abby had a great ride. |
So sorry. We know going into the deal that they will likely pass before us. Yet we do it over and over again because the joy outweighs the heartache. RIP Abby.

People sometimes wonder and theorize about the role of pets in our spirituality and whether they can enter Heaven. In my humble view, their role is critical and the question of whether they join us in Heaven is one of the easiest to answer.
Sorry for your loss. Grateful your family's fabric included Abby's love and fidelity. |
So sorry to hear. At least there is comfort in knowing her last moments were peaceful and without pain.
|
Sorry to hear.
My condolences to your family. |
My condolences to your family on the loss of Abby. It amazes me still how they become such an integral part of the family, and as such, it is like losing a family member.
|
My condolences. This sort of thing kills me. I still have a hard time thinking about the last pup that I lost.
Fortunately Abby went peacefully knowing that she was loved. |
Mike
So sorry for your loss - these dogs come into our lives and bring such joy to our families - losing them leaves a void that will become filled with happy memories. Godspeed Abbey! Paul |
Godspeed to Abby.
And may your family have great momories of her. |
So sorry to hear. Run free Abby, no pain...Say "hi" to our dogs you'll meet at the bridge.
Our sincere best wishes to you and yours, and may happy memories soon displace your sense of extreme loss. |
I feel your pain, Damn dogs will get you where nobody else canhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/sad2.gif

|
Looks exactly like my first dog, Lady. 16 years. I still tear up sometimes thinking about having to put her down. I was 18 at the time.
Bets wishes to you guys. |
Sorry about your loss, RIP Abby.....
|
So sorry for your loss. I'm going to give mine a big hug in her honor.
|
Very sorry for your loss.

"You never get over loosing them, you just learn to handle it"
And the other truth is: I think it was Will Rogers who said "If dogs don't go to heaven when they die, when I die I want to go where they go." Sorry for your loss |
