OT Engine Question
I was reading in the latest Excellence mag about the 912. When discussing the demise of the 912 in 1969, they mentioned it was the last of the 4 cylinder pushrod engines that had served them so well in so many applications.
So my question is, was the 914-4 not a pushrod engine? Did it have overhead cams? And what about the 912E?

They were all pushrod...but the 912E and 914 engines were really VW engines.

I believe the 914 and 912E used a variation of the VW type 4 engine, so it technically wasn't the original pushrod Porsche engine.
