11:30 p.m. last night I heard the dogs barking so went outside to investigate. Walked (snuck) to the north edge of our property and heard some very low and quiet voices and saw a very dim light in the house - walked (snuck) back into our house to get the binoculars and went back to my surveillance point and confirmed a dim light was coming from a back window. The electricity is cut off and it looked like candle light. No signs of movement but I was a couple hundred yards away with limited visibility and shaking binoculars. I first called the local patrol deputy's cell phone - no answer - and then called 911. I waited ten minutes or so and then called the owners to let them know what was going on. Turns out it was their sons packing up more stuff. Called off 911 and went to bed.

The ONE time I don't call the owners before calling 911 is the ONE time it's not criminals. Everything about the situation was a suspicious as it gets. Sheesh.
