Meth lab next door?

Dairy guy moved three months ago and his place (for sale for $1.4 mil) looks abandoned, although it kinda looked that way when he lived there, too. Anyway, we noticed a couple cars parked there a couple days ago for a few hours. Young tweaker looking folks. I went over to check things out (after they left). Front and back doors unlocked, one ajar, but no visible damage.

This afternoon, I noticed that the POS garage, with a cockeyed door, was "boarded up" with cardboard. I'm thinking they are starting a meth lab in the garage and will probably use the house as a crash pad. My 14 year old daughter calls herself "Kate Bauer" and I have had to impress upon her, and all my kids, the importance of not going near the place, although we did do a reconnaissance last night.

Calling the SO right now to find out who's on patrol tonight - could be some action . . .

if you smell acetone or something sweet, look out. Make sure you have .45 or a good rifle round - tweakers take a lickin' but keep on tickin'

No good can come of this. I'd stay clear, that's nasty s---!

What he said... if they start "cooking" you should be able to smell it.

If you do smell something like that... I'm sure the local law enforcement will be interested.

A call to the local LE would be warranted in this case. You would be amazed at the damage that a meth lab can do to your neighbors house.

porsche4life 03-27-2009 05:14 PM

Yes call the popo now. Have all the neighbors do the same. Hopefully they will come bust in the doors and stop it before someone is hurt.

Arizona_928 03-27-2009 07:00 PM

they won't come out unless someone is in there, or you say you someones in it... talking from experience.

UconnTim97 03-27-2009 07:07 PM

As one of us who has actually been inside an active meth lab and seen the destruction they can cause, I can't imagine the local LE wouldn't come out and at least take a look.

Had a lab down the street busted last month.
This in Los Alamos, NM. Half the houses' residents have big security clearances.
I, on a bike ride, go by and see crime scene guys in Tyvek suits and respirators going in and out. There's a strong air freshener scent in the street - I'm thinking weeks old corpse.
Good news is that it was just a meth lab.

Damn these people for making my purchase of sudafed harder than percocet for the wife's sciatica.

onewhippedpuppy 03-27-2009 07:58 PM

Keep your handgun close. Those are some nutty folks.

Is the SO on Neighborhood Watch or workin' for/with LE? I'd call the cops and explain most of what you explained already, the house is vacant and it appears that some scary types moved in and may be planning more than just living there. I suspect they'll want to come check it out. Especially if you call when they are there.

You can't call the police just because people are scary or weird looking in C.A.

Walk over with a sixer and calmly propose a cut for your silence. Times are tough. :D

Monza_dh 03-28-2009 06:19 AM

Or any place else in America.

I used to be of the opinion that if someone wants to do drugs, it's their business and not the governments. Until I saw what Meth did to my 19 y/o neice. She has two brain cells left, lost most of her teeth, and is in and out of jail probably 40 times in the last two years. She's now one of those people that stands on street corners and screams at passing cars.

I don't want a cut, I just don't want the competition. I thought I had a local monopoly on white trash, run-down farm property meth labs.

I ran a couple recon. missions over the weekend. Not much action. Keeping my eyes open though. I'm at alert level yellow. If I see active drug action, it goes up to orange and if I see any Nortenos, Suerenos or Feds, it goes immediately to red and operation FlashBang goes into effect.

Cops generally take meth labs very serious because they can EXPLODE. I would call your congressman if the cops don't seem interested.

My brother in law is doing 17.5 years for meth production/distribution. Dumbass that he is.

varmint 03-30-2009 01:16 PM

there are hunter's game cameras that can be hidden and are activated by laser trip wires.

set one up at about license plate height in your neighbors drive.

keep an eye open for bikers too.

varmint 03-30-2009 01:18 PM

see this as an opportunity for entertainment.

go on craigslist and buy a pile of old surveillance cameras, microphones and wiring. run it through the walls. the idea is to leave it where they will eventually find it. meth heads are the most paranoid freaks on earth.

you'l have them peeling their own skin off looking for bugs in no time.
