Talking I'll NEVER Let Him live THIS down!

My brother is a dyed in the wool Ford or Chevy Pickup truck man. He lives up in Portland, OR and comes down here (to Medford, OR - 270 or so miles) about once a month to spend some time with the parents.

And on THIS trip, his Ford pickup breaks down and makes the last 80 miles on a tow-truck. Parts to repair aren't available until next week.

As if that weren't bad enough, in order for him to get to work tomorrow (in Portland), I loaned him my little 911 coupe. I was even nice enough to show him how the heater works! He'll bring my car, Butters, back next week when he comes down to fix his Ford. That's right, use a Porsche for transportation BECAUSE YOUR FORD BROKE DOWN!!!!!

You know what, guys, I will NEVER let him live this one down!!! I will give him flak about this as long as he lives! Hey, what are big sisters for?

Here he is figuring out why the key doesn't go into the column - hahaha!

Cool Sister for sure, but he looked puzzled, "Why you taking my picture?" Ha, if he only knew.

I always say, "Smile; you're going on the internet"... Click.

Angela, are you witholding the derision until he gets Butters back to you in one piece, or did you give him a little grief as a send-off? Heh heh.

His first 20 miles:

What a stupid little piece! I can't stand sitting this low! What's with these goofy pedals?

Next 10 miles:

Boy, the steering sure is quick. Twitchy little bugger. Strange hearing all that noise coming from the rear. Stupid car.

After the next 50 miles:

Sure is easy on gas compared to my truck.

Next mile:

Hey! That corner was FUN!

The next few corners:

Oh, good- Another corner coming up! Maybe it's not so bad afterall......

Pulling into driveway:

I better wash this thing so it looks nice when I give it back to Angela.

After wash:

Not a bad looking car!

Also after wash, from grinning neighbor:

"Hey, neighbor- Did you just get that? Lemme take a look!

Next week:

Hey Angela- Where can I get one of these? Do you need to borrow my truck for a while?

Dantilla - that's almost EXACTLY how it went! The transmission was a piece of cake for him, I knew it would be, he drives a stick very well. But the bottom hinged pedals really threw him for a while. At 6'4", he was a little concerned about fitting into the car. But a 911 is actually pretty roomy for the long limbed, provided you're not both heavy and tall!

He needed to fuel up and couldn't believe it took 19 gallons. I told him, "hell, it wasn't even empty yet!" He wanted to know where in the hell the fuel tank was because there is no way something that small could possibly hold that much fuel.

He called part way up, "Okay, how do I turn the heater OFF!! I'm dying!!" hahaha! Oh this is good stuff.

The only concern I really had for the car's well being was to give him a detailed explanation for the oil level check. Expansion - overfilling is extremely bad, etc. Shouldn't need any oil added, it doesn't leak and the level was good when he left.

Are you kidding? This is my little BROTHER! I started giving him flak as soon as he folded his 6'4" cowboy boot wearing frame into the car!!

Well I did take him for a wee back roads drive before he borrowed it. Most of the time he spent braced with his eyes wide open! He's pretty impressed with how fast a slow car can go!

He gave me a call and asked if I wouldn't mind letting him have the car for another week. He got offered two days of overtime this weekend which precluded coming down to fix his truck. Money is money, in this economy, take it where you can!

So of COURSE I let him borrow Butters for another week. I figure that by next weekend, he's going to be trying to figure out how he can buy a 911.

Resistance is futile, little brother! You will be assimilated!

Riiiiight. We all know the truth.

Better yet, was the tow-truck a Chevy or Dodge?

Heh heh. Butters is working her magic.

BTW, you told him not to lift if he gets into a corner a little hot, didn't you?
