OKC Auto-x April 19?

How many of you all will be at the War-Bonnet Region AutoCross on April 19? I am planning on coming as a spectator and would like to meet a few of you guys. I wont turn 18 until that next week sadly so no driving for me. I can always watch tho. Want to get a hang of this thing before I crawl behind the wheel this summer.

The March event had 29 drivers ranging from a 1972 911T to a Ferrari F430.

I'll be there working the torque wrench and checking for loose items (Chad Goodman)

Others that will be there include Brian Swope (Autocross Chair), Laura Swope (Registration and Timing), Glen Hoskins (Club Treasurer), Richard Davis (Past President) and many other good people.

Registration ends promptly at 8:45am with the first runs starting 20-30 min later. There is plenty of seating for spectators.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Week to go. I think my dad will be coming up with me. Probably just going to be in his pickup because the German cars are not being kind to me this month. Any body else here?

Had a lot of fun today. Good to meet everyone. Wish it had been, warmer, dryer, and less windy. The cold and wet made for some slow laps and a few spins. I am definitely looking forward to driving next month.

It was nice to meet you Sunday. You will enjoy the course next time.

As far as breaking the car, I still drive to and from every event. Just last summer I drove to Charlotte NC. I drove the Drivers Education event on the Charlotte Motorspeedway track at triple digit speeds. I drive a car that is 25 years old with almost 130,000 miles.

Driving a Porsche the way it was designed to be driven will not break a Porsche. The main reason for the autocross is to teach the drivers to stay on course and learn car control.

He was joking mostly. He used to run with the dirt track crowd that did break something everytime. I have no real worries about my car other than the stock clutch but it is old and probably will go this summer anyways.

to finish first... you first must finish.

autox is about car control! not about exceeding the limits of the engineering of what the car was designed for.
