USPS are they dumb?
well I made a stupid mistake on something i sold on ebay. When i went to ship it "flat rate" The first number of the zip was a 6 instead of a 1 as it was supposed to be. It has everything else right on it. Will they realized that when it gets to the other state that it was supposed to go to PA, as wrote on the tab?

Are they dumb? Yes. You're probably screwed.

OH god.
Last house was on the cusp of 3 towns/zip codes. Huntington, Huntington Manor, Huntington Station. If you did not match the zip/town name exactly I would not get the mail. IRS froze all my assets once, they tried to send me an audit notice which was returned to them. Living in the house for a few years and my mortgage statements stop showing up for 6-7 months then just start up again. Daughters Birth Certificate never arrives, etc... etc... etc... I called one time to complain, supervisor says she knows my area is a problem, they changed the system and sent out letters to my area to inform us there may be an issue with delivery. Told her I guess I never got it. ![]() After 1/3 hour of "discussion" she tells me the only way she may be able to figure it out is if "I get her an envelope from a piece of mail that I did not get" ![]()

My ex-wife worked for the USPS. I have essentially zero respect for those people. They manage to concoct this dangerous mixture of incompentence and indifference to ruin your day on a regular basis.

![]() Chances are it will circulate via zip code, then come back undeliverable... or they might correct it and get it delivered. I think the zip code determines which postal hub/sorter receives it. Then the address takes over. Cliff Claven would have something to say here.... |

Probably cuz no one knows for sure. If your mistaken zip code exists, then you may get it back, if the zip code doesn't exist, they may correct it and get it delivered.

Yeah, at least give it a chance. What I can't figure is how you know the zip is wrong. How can you see a package once it's mailed?

That depends.
Did you put a return address on it? Heh heh. I'm sure you did. Yeah, it will come back if they can't figure out how to get it there based on the address.
