Finally.........

after 10 months of searching, about 600 resumes out, a few great interviews where they ended up giving the job to someone else (then the job being re listed weeks later because the person couldn't cut it...where my wife was overqualified).....
and then some drama with one of her previous employers who lied about what dates she worked for them (got it all straitened out and heads are rolling).
for a state nursing type position this threw a red flag on her newly certified license, and would've prevented ANYONE from hiring her......

anyway, the job is secured, she has some training to do but will be working in about 2 weeks.........

have you ever been so close to the edge financially where everything would go? i already sold my 911 due to her not being able to find work after our relocation and my shop cutting back hours......i was "this" close......

i've been an absolute stressed out wreck timing late payments of bills and just barely hanging on......i'm tired of eating pasta for dinner (cause you can make it for a buck), i've been in florida for almost a year now and have yet to spend the weekend at the beach due to the lack of funds (i'm an hour from the gulf and atlantic)....

anyway things are finally looking up, should be about a month or so and i'll be fully back on track.......

ramble off.......

Hooray! I like it.

Oh, and didn't you used to have the cowbell for an avatar? I hated that. The now gone 911 is much better. You'll be back.

Congratulations!

Hope it gets better. One great side note for you: I know of many marriages that are not surviving the financial strain. Be good to each other, she (and you) must be a keeper!

"have you ever been so close to the edge financially where everything would go?"

Yes, and it was damn uncomfortable. Don't know how I did it, but it did work out. You'll make it, you'll find a way. This will sound 'corny' but it changed the way I lived my life. All the "necessities", suddenly didn't seem to matter. Put's things in perspective. (or it did for me).

Maybe that's why I want what I have. I worked my arse off for it, and it took a long time.

You'll make it.

By the way, my wife can send you a wonderful noodles, butter and and Parmesan cheese recipe, ask me how I know. :>) We have it now and then for a change, and to remind us how fortunate we are, and really it's not to bad, especially with a little rabbit or dove.

Sorry abut the car, but I'm betting you'll have another

Hey Bell,
Thanks for sharing and I'm glad things are looking up!
I can look back at the tough times I've seen in my life and there always was a purpose or a lesson that launched me into something better; tough to see whilst in the storm, but it's been true for me. Perhaps strengthening your relationship with your wife; she knows how you handle the tough times now anyway, from here on in it's all gravy baby!
All the best to you and her......
Cheers

Congrads, glad to hear it, you give me hope. I am in the same boat, just waiting for the job to come for the wife, waiting for my shop to pick back up (well the industry) and I am "this close" to losing my house. I think I miss the solid night of sleep the most.
Have a sigh of relief for me and let me know if I like it.

You shoulda made Ramen - it's cheaper than pasta!

Glad things are looking up for your family. I'd encourage your wife to go through RN(BSN) and not stop at the LVN level. (she can work while she's finishes)

Isn't there a Kart track in Ocala for you to get a speed fix?

Yes the ocala gran prix is a killer little track with 9hp honda carts, they've been running a 10 bucks for a 10 minute session for the past few months, not sure if it's still going on, but a fun fast track
Right now we're at the exotic car show in celebration in orlando, have some killer picsd ill post when I get home

But Ramen's not really food. Only college kids are dumb enough to actually eat Ramen.
