Hong Kong for a date???? I used to go there 20 years ago with a fake ID!!
Sean, as you know there are plenty of great restarants to go in Cambridge/Boston. Once a year my wife and I treat ourselves to a "date" at L'Espalier and attend the Wine Monday events. Its a great way to do something a little different, Monday night date, at one of the best restaraunts in the country. Its also a bargain at $60 per head prix fix menu with 4-5 different tastings of $$$$ wine. Its great fun. I used to like the old spot but the new location isnt so bad. Good luck! http://www.lespalier.com/events/index.shtml At most places of business, Friday is casual day, but at L’Espalier, the atmosphere is most relaxed at the beginning of the week. The first of its kind in Boston, the Wine Monday series was conceived during one of Chef McClelland and Wine Director, Erik Johnson’s midnight sessions in the wine cellar, “pulling corks” and pondering the ultimate food and wine combinations. Since its inception in 2002, Wine Monday evenings have consisted of a selection of wines, inspired by the changing seasons, wine regions or varietals, paired with a four-course tasting menu composed by Chef McClelland. With menus and pairings ranging from the classical to the adventurous, guests at Wine Mondays are often the first to taste a dish that ultimately shows up on L’Espalier’s Prix Fixe menu. Participants are seated at large tables that foster lively conversation, while sommelier Erich Schliebe leads an engaging, informal talk that is appropriate for a range of enthusiasts, from newcomers to experienced wine lovers. SCHEDULE Apr. 20: Burgundy Apr. 27: Loire Valley May 4: Pacific Northwest May 11: Bubbles, Bubbles, Everywhere! May 18: Pinot Envy May 25: French ABCs: Alsace, Burgundy, Bordeaux and Champagne

two I've been on
1) my then fiance': picked her up and had dinner at a Cuban restraunt, then went to a club that offered free Salsa dance lessons...I can't dance for sheet, but she liked too dance and certainly appreciated the effort. 2) ...more of a third date move: Went to Tahoe and spent the weekend skiing and hot tubing. At night we took Craps lessons. (Boy was that a pre-curser to what was yet to come...see below) Both times learned something new, and she was very appreicative of the effort to do something new. {as a side note Tahoe was great, but ended badly. Sat. night buffett, we both got sick the next morning.....only one toilet.... and half a roll of paper. I handed her the gargage can through the door, since I was already indisposed. I had to covertly trow the garbage can she used away in the outside dumpter...yuk} We got married with in six months. Seems that if you can handle that together everything else is fairly tame.
