BTW... have you ever started it with the handcrank?

haha....nope. I replaced the original "hole in the radiator" design with a radiator from a TR4A (one of 5 radiators I got in my parts cars deal).

Although....in 60K miles of driving, I've perfected push starting it, and then running and jumping over the door as the car is moving, perfectly sliding down the seat, and putting it into gear to get her started.

It's cool when you take a car down to every nut and bolt and then put it back together. if ANYTHING breaks, you know how to fix it!

I do have a picture somewhere of me sawzalling the car in half, before i welded in new floors, rockers, and inner sills. gotta look for it

I suspect that most people who actually owned or wanted a 57 Chevy back in the day ( I had two) don't have kids in high school. Grandkids maybe....

My first car was my grandmothers 1966 Chevy Nova Sedan which I got in 1983 so it was already almost 20 yrs old.

It had 96 hp straight six, rusted out floors and a loud muffler. My girlfriend at the time would duck low in the seat so her neighbors wouldn't see her driving in it.

Kids these days don't know how good they have it.....

This isnt it but ite the only 4 dr '66 I could find on google:

Embraer, that's an awesome TR-4. I dream of restoring a car with my son for him to drive when he's a teen. No doubt that investing your own sweat and blood makes you respect the car so much more.
