Fishiest Ebay transaction I've ever had

I bought an undervalued commercial drink machine from Craigslist and listed it on Ebay. Well, the winning bidder is from Poland. They explain that I'll be shipping to a US address. Paypal payment comes in from a 3rd party unrelated to the auction with a request to ship to a company in IL. I look up the address on Google maps and it's obviously a residential address. I called the phone number listed on the Paypal payment and it goes to the cell phone of a guy with an eastern European accent.

The payment also had a web address attached:
http://www.kupujemywusa.com
Anyone speak Polish?

I think I'm going to refund the payment and relist this item. My gut feeling is that if I ship off this piece of equipment I will come to regret it. Thoughts?

That sounds beyond strange. I would not ship it.

You can't scam someone using Paypal, right? It's strange, but if you have your money.....

Sounds like they could have used a fake or stolen credit card to make payment. They require that your physical address matches your CC when you register it.

The CC company can easily refuse or refund the payment once they detect it, and PayPal can go into your account and take back their money. You would then have to fight to get it back.

Not sure what to recommend in this case, but I'd be leery as hell.

I though they could just use Paypal to claim that the item was never sent, or not as advertised.

Why not request a personal check and send the machine after the money clears?

I sent a note to the buyer saying I'm not comfortable with this. If he wants to do a wire, fine, but I'm refunding the money. Paypal customer service said don't ship it. They said if I did ship and the buyer requested a refund that they would take the money back. That's all I needed to hear.

How can PayPal take the money back? Don't you transfer it out of your PayPal account as soon as it arrives? I'd never leave any money there for them to mess with.
