Taurus PT-22 (.22LR) or PT-25 (.25ACP).

Basically a clone of a Beretta pocket pistol. IMO the Taurus is actually the nicer of the two. Especially the early models with the nice wood grips like the ones in your picture. The later ones have crappy plastic grips.

Do you have a photo with less glare from the flash? Maybe use a bright, steady light and take the photo without flash?

There should be a name on the slide on one side or the other. Conversely, you could type in what markings are stamped on the weapon on either side of the slide and give the name/initials on the grip.

Do not include serial numbers... Keep those to yourself.

A buddy has a PT-22 and that's it, dead on. Fun little gun.

Beretta pocket pistol 25 Cal, that looks like The Beretta Model. The barrel tips up.

Not my gun so I can't shoot a better pic. A friend's grandmother just gave it to her. It's her first gun and she's scared to death of it. She couldn't even tell me caliber- but I was guessing 22/25 when she told me the size of it.

I'm going to head over Wednesday night and check it out. She knows nothing about it (or any guns) and all I have is the picture. I'm going to show her how to clean it and give her some basic safety/usage guidance.

We'll probably hit the range with it next week.

I don't see pimp gun in that picture- but I do rather like the looks of it. It sounds like from the feedback this is a gun worth hanging on to? I would imagine she would want to anyways as it's a family gun, but it's a better deal if it's a quality item.

Lol, I wonder if she realizes the magazine is in and the pistol is cocked? Although it does look like the safety is on.

The beretta has a bigger triggerguard IIRC. Pretty sure that's a Taurus. And yes, that is in condition one- cocked and locked. It's probably loaded.

Either way, it's a competent little pocket pistol.

She does now. That's why she emailed me in the first place. This is her email which accompanied the picture:

"question for you….the little gold part above the handle…is it supposed to be pushed down like that?"

I explained that it does indeed appear to be cocked. She then replied "OMG" and suggested I come over to rectify the situation. I asked her if the gun is unloaded to which she replied, "I know that there is not a bullet in the chamber but she said she thought there were old bullets in some part of it that need to come out. Ok I am soo not touching that thing until you look at it…Scary!"

If that pistol is in 25 caliber you might as well gt rid of it..as the caliber is worthless for stopping power and is costly to buy ammo for. The 22 on the other hand has the same or more stopping power than the 25 and costs less to buy.

I think .25 magsafes would probably ruin your day if you had 6 or 7 of them pumped into your torso...

Not what i'd choose, but way better than a sharp stick.

Re-read the thread Tabs- not mine for the getting rid of. Probably more of a keepsake than home defender for my friend.

Looks a lot like this Beretta 950 that I just happened to be looking at yesterday:

I have the "unpimped" version in .25 caliber. It's a nice little pistol. Called a "Jetfire" if I recall.
