Mercedes help

I know this is a 911 forum but I need help and I figured you guys just might. Also no one uses pelicans MB forum. My Clk 320 cabriolet has a conv. top hydraulic leak in the lock actuator. the leak is coming out of the ram when being used. Any ideas as this is basically a seal prob. I am posting a pic of the ram leaking.

If your clk is 1998 to 2002, try here:

If it is 2003 or newer, try here:

Thanks for the link,I have been all over that forum and a member for awhile. I cannot locate this specific prob. My question is this ram rebuildable or expendable, my guess is the latter. So now off I go on the plug and play adventure.By the way my car is a 2000 CLK320, any ideas are welcomed.
Best, Larry

If it's anything like the SLK mechanism, I don't know if you'd want to try to rebuild it. Honestly given the price of a new one, I don't see how it can be a bad idea (worst case the repairs fail or the thing gets so hopelessly mangled in disassembly you end up having to buy a new one anyway).

Is the car under warranty by chance? If so, I'd just have it replaced. If not, yank it and try to fix it - can't see the harm in trying. Maybe a hydraulics place would have the seals/o-rings you need. I'm skeptical that the dealer sells those as separate parts (probably just the entire part).

Good luck. Check benzworld.

Thanks Jeff, my sentiments exactly. I am in the process of removal so will keep ya'll posted if so desired. If not then I'll keep on trying to get help at benz .org. Those guys are either sleeping or don't have a clue, because I have not got a response yet. Maybe its just my impatience in wanting an answer. I just think this ram should not fail ,its not a great amount of strain.

Try mercedesshop. It's the only MB forum I found that actually has real techs on it. The rest are teens busy figuring out rim sizes to make their ride look phat.

There's also the EPC. https://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/welcome.jsp It's the actual MB online parts catalog, and is free for North-American customers. This way you can see the schematic, and if that part is available individually or as a big assembly.
