China now is very likely the "Japan of 1960" as far as auto mfrg.

In 1960, almost all Americans would have laughed at the idea of buying a car made in Japan.

5 years from now, the Chevy brand will be owned by the Chinese.

15 years from now, our roads will be flooded with Chinese made cars.

IT MAKES SENSE.

Rural roads in China... you may need more than a Hummer.

That's true. I saw a lot of Cayennes and X5's on my last trip there.

No. AM General makes the military vehicles. They made the H1 (no longer made).

The H2 and H3 are basically rebodied Silverados. They are civilian only.

AMG sold the name Hummer to GM. They AMG made the H2 for GM, but GM made the H3 themselves.

Our local plant is where the H3 & H3T are made. They are at least contracted to build them through at least next year. They also build the small Chevy & GMC trucks here. Maybe they'll make it, I hate to see them stamping out putt-putt Obamobiles though.

The Chinese are going to DISMANTLE the factory and ship it to China...they did it with the Kaiser Steel plant in Fontana, CA so they will do the same with the Hummer..
