Anyone Ever Hear of the Book 'Behind the Plastic Curtain"?

I remember hearing about it years ago - a book about how a town vanished due to an explosion at a DuPont or Dow Plastics plant and how they swept it under the rug.

Is this a myth or did it really happen? The book was supposed to expose it but DuPont did some legal mumbo jumbo and halted publications.

It sounds just like almost every conspiracy theory. No evidence at all and just nothing but rumors. And somehow all the participants have maintained the silence. I heard it was actually a UFO that blew up and left nothing behind except the invisible unicorns that protect the site. My next door neighbor used to live there and his brother's best friend told him that his aunt's first cousin saw it happen. Now she is missing!

This is a case of a corporation not being a responsible citzen nor good neighbor. If these corporations want a seat at the table they need to be responsible citizens. There is nothing wrong with making a profit so long as you do not do it at the expense of the health of the people living around your facility. This type of thing is out and out criminal.

Man in general shytes where they eat, in the past one could just move on over the next hill and despoil that region. Now there are virtually no more hills to go over to despoil. So we are now confronted with the reality that one must keep it clean and pick up after themselves. For no amount of profit is going to ease the pain of poisoning yourself to death.

Great articles. I remember when that happened. I was actually working with isocycnates and isocynurates. Nasty stuff.

But this happened in the states.

As for conspiracy...hmmm....well, if 40 news organizations can keep mum about a few hostages for several months what makes you think uncle dupy couldn't buy them out?
