Imagine how stupid the average person is, and then realize that half the people are more stupid than that!

I am stupid.

I did not hurt myself (unless you count a screw driver in the finger as an injury)

And now I need a tow truck and a mechanic.

True, but the specifics make for an entertaining story for those of us in the peanut gallery.

Okay, You want to know how stupid I am. I really don't know if it is funny or not. I may be too close to see the funny in it at the moment but I did things that were dangerous and that I really do know better about.

So - encourage me to share with your stupid/dangerous stories.

consider yourself encouraged but you have to top this:

One time I was jacking up the rear of an old Porsche to do an engine pull.
About half-way up, I realized I had left the front truck lid open. I realized that because I heard it buckling and crinkling as it was jammed up against the storage shelf in my garage.

Jacking up the rear of the car moved the trunk lid into the shelf. Rather strongly I might add.
Did I mention that prior to this stunt the trunk lid was the only straight piece of sheet metal on the car?

If using a screwdriver resulted in an injury and the need for a tow, this is a story worth waiting for.

The screwdriver in the finger was the only 'injury' - it hurts but not as much as waiting for the tow truck.

Other than that - it has very little to do with the story.

I will say that I constantly amaze myself in the ways that I am willing to use a screwdriver and how even the honest use of a screw driver (to drive screws - duh) is almost always sure to result in my injuring my hand somehow.

Does it have anything to do with locking your keys in the car?

Did you try to remove a fan belt with the screwdriver on a running engine perhaps?

I will end the speculation but I'm not ready to outline the chain of events.

Struts and springs.

Again, no injuries - car's fine. Just outside of what I should even be thinking about tackling.
