Best name for a band ever
Went to a benefit for schools in Afghanistan tonight. Name of the Band?
The Sofa Kings. One of my favorite current gen SNL skits. I kept going up to people and asking, "Did you hear the name of the band?" no. "They are the Sofa Kings. They are sofa king great!"

Weak.
I think Jello Biafra had some of the best ever. Between "Occupant" and the "Dead Kennedys", that's pure form. Somewhere I have an interview with him where he launched into a speal of band name suggestions for aspiring musicians. Hilarious stuff - one that comes to mind is "The Imperial Turdsicles".

Me First & the Gimmie Gimmies.
First heard them on pirate radio. A station run by Seton Hall students, (one of those 88.9 stations), awesome tunes, stuff you never hear.

There was a hockey team sponsored by 'Easton' at a tournament I was in last summer.
Team name? Easton-fection. Might work for a band.

The Burning Sensations and Funkadelic were 2 good ones. I don't care for the hard/soft crap that was popular for awhile (Concrete Blonde, Guns n' Roses, etc.)

There was a fledgling metal band years ago in Sacramento, CA. The lead singer was a Microbiology major at UC Davis. He named the band LD50.
In toxicology the dose of a poison that kills half of the exposed population is the LD50.(Lethal dose-50%) Perfect name for a metal band.

If it was a rap band it'd be more like LD100.
