My Dad died on the john taking a Crap, I figure his way of saying Piss off.. I think he knew his days were numbered, as the Tues before he died (following Sat morning) he was at the club, he lived on his boat, Vicki & I lived in a condo on the grounds. Well he hated the bar part of the club, didn't like to many people there & let them know it. On this Tues though, he was there (I was there every Tues because that was our Beer Club) and he knew that. Well, he takes off for a bit, then comes back as I was about to leave as I spent my drinking money for the day, his response

I think the old man can afford to buy you a few drinks
. Well, we got smit faced, he was much more foregiving when talking about people I know he disliked, we drank even more, I walked back to the condo, passed out in front of the door and Vicki was so pisse when she got home & I'm passed out on the door step. The next time I heard about him (I worked out of town alot then) wasa phone call from Vicki on Sat morning telling me my father was found passed out, I called my evil step sister & told her what I knew and asked her to let me know what was going on (I was at a gig, it was my busiest time of year) I tried to reach him all day, called the boat, called my ESS, but no answer. Then, while at a PCA x-mas party, around 8pm, the brother in law answered the phone. When I asked how my Dad was, he said he was gone, so I asked where did he go (he sailed & crewed alot) and only then, 12 hours later, did I know that my father was dead He died taking a Crap, so when anyone tells me that I can get killed sky diving or driving on a race track, I tell em

my last words will probably be "hold my beer & watch this"
I've seen family members pass slowly from disease and fast from accident.
I'm not afraid of the other side, i just don't want to leave until my kids are old.

Saw the car coming and couldn't do anything about it. No time. Was on my new bike, broke windshield with my head...

Was just a block from home.

Remember thinking "This is It", but no emotion. I'd seen a guy killed the same way a month earlier and that was more emotional.

Woke in a pool of blood in the middle of the street, people standing around. Couldn't breathe, tried to get up, one person was a nurse who screamed "Don't move" in my ear and held me down. Finally caught my breath.

Was in and out. Cop asking questions, then in ambulance, then in ER.

Finally was OK, head full of staples, neck brace for a month, disablingly dizzy. Wiper rubber embedded in my broken R hand.

Thing is, I was not scared, was emotionless, tried to 'jump' over the roof and didn't make it - toe clips. Don't ride as much, and never use toe clips. Ever.

Incredible how sammy's and craigster's experiences and feelings were so different than mine.

They described it as peaceful wheras my situation was pure panic which turned into deep sadness knowing what was about to end. I couldn't even describe how bad I felt.

I would expect to find some comfort looking forward to the 70 virgins. Although the Muslims have traditionally monopolized that concept, I believe its universal. However, depending on the quality of how good or bad you have led your life, the age of the virgins may vary. This brings me back to the cougar thread..

You are describing how it felt knowing you were about to go.
I described how it felt after I went.
It happened in my sleep so I didn't see it coming and didn't feel what you did.

I remember being very sick. I remember suddenly feeling incredibly joy. Unbelievable pleasure, total absence of anything painful or heavy.
Kind of like static on a TV without a station, but very very bright. Not bright in a harsh way, just nice.
It kind of focused into tunnel vision. Long tunnel type, but not well defined. Dark on the edges and bright and pleasant in the middle. Total joy.

Then I gradually woke and felt bad. Like the weight of the world was slowly lowered onto me.

Muslims are confused. Robin Williams cleared this up years ago. It's 70 Virginians. Bunch of guys wearing white wigs. Probably a better trade to enjoy bacon 80 years instead.
