Someone hacked into my son FB account; Need help!
Some jerkwad has hacked into my son's Facebook account and is posing as my son, leaving comments and photos that are not cool.....its just under the radar of "rated R".
My son has tried to contact their worthless POS customer service (by phone and email) but nobody has responded or done anything to the account. He has tried to delete the account but he's helpless because the hacker has changed his password. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

650-543-4800
650 853-1300 Fax: 650-543-4801 Email: info@facebook.com Facebook, Inc. 471 Emerson St. Palo Alto, CA 94301-1605 United States ~~~~ From an online site: All of Facebook's customer service is handled online, through the Help link at the bottom right of every Facebook page. Select the help topic relevant to your problem, then click the "Send us a message" link at the bottom of that help topic page. This will flag your issue specifically to your problem. There is a press contact phone number, (650) 543-4811, but they probably won't be very happy that you used their interview request line for customer service. In general, most online companies don't provide a customer service number; it would be way too expensive to have the number of people on staff necessary to handle their ~50 million users. With online help, they can more easily handle issues as they come in, without having to turn you away with a busy signal or keep you on hold. ~~~~ Call first then send an email telling them that if they do not close the page due to fraud that you will be contacting the police in Palo Alto and turning it over to their internet fraud division.

Great need to know info......my son has called the main number several times each day along with emails, but as of today they haven't responded. I even reported his page as offensive (I wish Z-Man had a twin brother working at FB) and nothing has been done to resolve the problem. Thanks a million for the info. I'll be calling the press contact phone number if we don't hear from them soon.

Also call and ask for their lawyers contact information. Then contact the lawyer and tell them that from the time/date of the first contact of your son to FB that they are then responsible for anything that happens. Advise them that this has been reported to the Police and FBI and that Face Books lack of action has as well been passed on.
Something should happen after that point...

It's certainly not cool to have one's account hacked, but saying that the police and FBI have been contacted? That's a little alarmist, no? I know we've come to expect everything at internet speed, but this seems a little much.

TWork,
Hacking is a federal crime my friend. Wait until you get your Ebay or bank account hacked and cleaned out then let us know how fast you call the police or FBI. What they are doing with his FB page is a good question but can guarantee you its not good. The FBI almost always get into the mix as the person doing the hacking is almost never in the same town or state, and that makes it an interstate crime, thus a federal issue. Also, Mike have you asked your son if he used the same password on his FB account that he uses for everything else? If yes then its time to change everything to a new password. Usually they do and once the criminal knows one PW, then go after other things. Joe A

I joined Facebook at the request of a friend and have to tell you I think it is highly over rated, there are people that I work with that live on the stupid site but in my case all it is good for is to see pictures of people I went to high school with 30 years ago.
Bottom line is I finally turned my Facebook account off Todd ![]() Last edited by K9Torro; 06-29-2009 at 07:37 PM.. |

Call the police in that area, ask for the internet fraud department. THEY will have a phone number that does directly to FB.

How long have you been waiting since the first contact? I had an issue with someone using my credit card info on facebook and everything was resolved via email, although it did take them a whole week to respond to the first inquiry.

abides.

Will facebook let you do a "Password Reset"? If you've forgotten your password most sites will send a link to your email address which resets your password.

The other guy has already put his email addy in the first box you come to when you go to facebook.com to login, so Mike's son can't get to the point where he could do that.
