930 track car value?

An old friend of mine who races British cars is looking at a 930 that is set up for the track. He called me the other night to get an idea of it's value as it is part of an estate.

Here are the details: A 1986. What should a car like this sell for?

They probably have over $70K in the car, unfortunately that doesn't translate to resale value. I'd say $35K, maybe more, maybe less depending on condition and how well sorted it is.

Owning one you would probably know best. I have no idea if there is even an asking price on this car.

If he got it at 35K it would be a steal. Much lesser cars advertised at 50K

History or a "proven record" impacts value IMO. I'd pay more for a car that had a demonstrated winning record vs. one with just cool parts on it.

Why?

The TRUE value of a racecar or track car is in the effort put in setting up and dialing in the car to win, rather than just the sum of it's shiney parts.
