Not a Fan of Monkeys, Apes or Chimps
 

I like pretty much like all animals except higher primates (save humans). I can tolerate lemurs but thats about it.

In fact, I am pretty sure I could easily kill any which one of them Monkeys, Apes or Chimps and not suffer any remorse. I can't say that about other animals unless I killed it for food.

Is it competition of primates?

Maybe. They fight dirty, too.

Never met one I trusted - they got a look in their eyes, a bad look.

What are Monkeys, Apes and Chimps,doing that are competing with you?

I had a friend that had a chimp... "Zippy the Chimp" if that animal got angry he would kick your ass easily..

never had a chimp or ape do me wrong

This guy wakes up one morning to find a gorilla in his tree. He looks in the phone book for a gorilla removal service until he finds one. "Is it a boy or girl Gorilla?" the service guy asks. "Boy," is the man's response. "Oh yeah, I can do it. I'll be right there," says the service guy.
An hour later the service guy shows up with a stick, a Chihuahua, a shotgun, and a pair of handcuffs. He then gives the man some instructions: "Now, I'm going to climb this tree and poke the gorilla with the stick until he falls. When he does, the trained Chihuahua will bite the gorilla's testicles off. The gorilla will then cross his hands to protect himself and allow you to put the handcuffs on him."
The man asks, "What do I do with the shotgun?"
The service guy replies, "If I fall out of the tree before the gorilla, shoot the Chihuahua."

Lubey, that's a bit odd. I just don't get it. Maybe one has thrown poo at you at some point, or possibly mounted you?

I find peoeple are generally much more deserving of a bullet behind the ear.

I also think that unless you had a rifle and a bunch of distance, the monkey, ape, chimp, gorilla, whatever would take you.

Mike's just jealous because they look better in his wife's underwear than he does.

Gorillas seem to me to be the best behaved primates, lots of good traits and not as many bad traits.

I feel that way about rabbits...

If you had ever seen Michael Jackson and his Chimp 'Bubbles' together, as father and son, you'd have the same fear as Mike.

Yes, they (Chimps, Apes, Monkeys) could easily kill me - but so could pretty much any animal I can think of that weighs over 50lbs. That is no feat.

I trust horses, dogs and cats - anything else is food. I guess any animal I don't have a trust for is worthy to kill and roast.

I didn't think about my distain for apes, chimps or monkeys until I was watching a nat geo special the other night on baboons and then I hit me - they are like us but worse. They are base and substantive, cruel and fierce. All the things that make us less then human.

The monkeys are just wild animals. If they don't understand something, they're probably going to assume it's a threat, and rip it to shreds. That's pretty much the wild animal solution for everything, attack it. Sometimes run. Like a few months ago or whenever, that woman with the pet monkey that ate the face off of their neighbor - I didn't follow it in the news, but I'd be willing to bet the monkey felt some competition from the neighbor, or maybe a threat, so it dealt with it the way it felt was natural. But yeah, that would suck to have your face eaten off.

But come on, those little spider monkeys are so cute!

What about people you don't know (i.e. trust)? So let me get this straight. Anything you fear you will kill. I thought that philosophy went away with the neanderthals.

How about, leave them alone? People are not the natural prey for any animal.

It seems your fear of animals is based on some folkloric, superstitious, legendary tale of animals stalking and hunting your person parts. Sherwood I guess you have missed the news stories about mtn lions coming into town and eating ppl. No it didn't use to be natural for then to eat us. Paybacks a *****. Think about all those mtn lions killed by early settlers.

I won't quote the Wiki or any other encyclopedia piece about "natural predators" (bold for emphasis and for ease in selecting the search term). You can perform a click on the aforementioned link at your leisure.

I fully realize that some/most animals are fully capable of eating humans. E.g. ants and maggots can be perps as well as a pet Presa Canario. The ultimate solution, it seems for some, is to annihilate them before they have the opportunity to dine at our expense. This demonstrates we are afraid of that which do not care to learn about.
