Explosion in the desert

Yesterday while driving across the Mojave around noon I had an "emergency " can of Fix a Flat in my trunk..
So it was 108 degrees recorded on weather.com in Needles CA where I was driving , and BOOM!!!!! sounded like a grenade going off , crap all over my windshield... the can totally exploded..

Anyway,, had to share that little experience...sorry no pics

Bummer! I hope it wasn't hard to clean up.

I have, what sounds to be a 6 pack of empty bottles in my trunk. It's driving me nuts, as I can't find anything glass or anything that could be making that sound. Every time I go over a speed hump, it makes the same sound. Argh!

Is it the Corolla, Dave? I'm guessing the guys who put it together left you a little "surprise" just for laughs. There used to be all kinds of stories of that kind of stuff happening on U.S. assembly lines. People would find soda bottles in the dash... in the doors, etc.

Might wanna pull out the trunk liner panels and look around.

I had a blowout in the 993 very close to Needles on Sat. Really enjoyed that wait, tow, hotel, rental car bill and a round trip to Bullhead City yesterday to get my 993 with new rear tires on it.

Hi John,

I had actually cleaned out the trunk about two months ago and had the liner out. It started recently. It's possible something fell into the side "pockets". So far I have shifted a few things around, but the sound remains.

Maybe it's all that change you keep in your pockets, Dave.

OK, let me get this straight;
one can of fix-a-flat exploded
one rear tire blowout
one hotel on fire
all in Needles CA.

Note to self: NEVER go to Needles CA

Needles is a good example of what stopping for gas on the moon would be like.
