Was a guy in Albuquerque (pretty well known) who had a black hot-air baloon and black chase truck with the same "N" number and plate number.

They were both taken away when people figured them out. Justifiably so.

I read that as a variant of "NINER". That's more than likely what the owner meant, no?

Nope.

The FAA would not have revoked the number if it was NINER. It was "NI99ER"

9's look a bit like a lower case ......'s? The balloon was what color?

Admitedly not politically correct, but I'm just the messenger.


BTW, it was his son in the balloon that just did a free fall into the Adriatic Sea.

He's from Albuquerque, where the Great Balloon Fesival is in full swing now. You haven't seen anything until you see 800-1000 balloons in the air at the same time.
