You're correct. However, PS isn't the only RAW converter available: http://www.phototestcenter.com/html/raw_software_reviews.html http://www.prophotohome.com/forum/canon-eos-digital-slr-1-6x-sensors/64600-canon-raw-software.html ... and there's always http://www.dpreview.com/ for their user forums. I have CS2 that my girlfriend put on my laptop. I just have to hone my skills with it. It does work with the RAW files.
Yes Glenn it is a slippery slope. I am already looking at Tele-Photo lenses to get good pictures at Autocross. Steve do you have any pictures you took with that Sigma. It has my interest piqued. |

It sure is a slippery slope. Thankfully one that I have not been drawn down. I have plenty of other things to spend my money. I do want to rent a L telephoto for my next trip. That would be neat.

Here at the office we have a Nikon D3 with a 70 to 200 anti vibration auto focus bla bla bla. The sucker weighs over 7 pounds. It cost more than my brand new 1974 914 2.0 did. Of course that is 1974 dollars vs. 2008 dollars. It is an amazing piece of equipment. It is the first digital camera I have seen that can flat our beat a professional level 120 film camera. If any of you want a good deal on a Pentax 6x7 with several lenses let me know. For those that don't know the Pentax shoots a negative that is 2.25 x 2.75 inches. We sold the Hassleblads to go to the bigger negative of the Pentax.

Cleaned up some more pictures waiting on something to download. The blue in the others was just a WB issue. Feel free to leave comments in the Picassa album Masraum- Do you have any pictures with that Sigma lens? |

I just joined this Canon Photography Forum, for the motor sports sections.
http://photography-on-the.net/forum/index.php? It's worth checking out for tips and examples of other enthusiasts and professional photographers. They have many sections, including Motor Sports photos http://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=90 and tips and techniques http://photography-on-the.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=118

Steve,
Those are great shots! What body/lens were you using?

Digital Rebel XT and a Sigma APO DG 70-300 Macro Zoom. Say that 5 times fast.
Thanks, even a broken clock is right 2 times a day. The best way to take good photos, is to take a lot of photos.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, for those waterfall blur shots, try stopping the camera way down (higher f #) for longer exposure times. If it's really bright out you may have to stop it down to the max and use an ND filter. The camera needs to be absolutely still (obviously a tripod is preferred). Use the timer function as well so there is no additional induced shake from your finger depressing the shutter button. Last edited by Eric Coffey; 08-03-2009 at 04:32 PM.. |

Sounds good. I've not been to the local Molly's, only the one downtown.
