We're together now, and more than friends. Hopefully this will be the start of a nice relationship.


For those of you curious how I went about it... we had been talking about various past friends over a bottle of wine. She mentioned this guy friend of hers who she has been 'just really good friends' with for as long as she can remember. I asked if they ever dated and she said no, that they are just friend and would never be in a relationship like that. I said 'so you're in that 'friend zone'' ... she said yes..


We bantered on some more and I dropped the line "Well I'm not sure we can be friends much." - She put sorta a confused look on her face. I paused, - "Because I find that I'm way too attracted to you."

We kissed, which seeming lasted forever, and then I smiled and said "You know that friend line?" and she smiled and then said "Yea, we just crossed that." Pretty much finished my thought.

So, my night went down like a chapter out of a romance novel.

No, I didn't bang the bejesus out of her after this all went down. Sorry for those who were rooting for that. We'll have plenty of fun times soon I'm sure. She's coming to visit me later this month. Again, the 1 bed scenario.

Congrats Schumi. I've been following this thread an routing for you and "the one". I just celebrated my 6th anniversary yesterday and (despite what Sniper says) can tell you life changes so much for the better when you find the one. There's been a lot of good and not-so good advice in this thread. I'll leave you with a quote that applies to both types of advice I've read:

I know how this goes as I was once in the "friend zone" with a very sweet girl. After my first hitch in the service, we ran into each other at a mutual friends party. We picked up where we had left off. Now mind you, I had been friends with her since I was 11, now I was 23. We seemed cut out for each other and I couldn't get her off of my mind as more than a friend. One day after hiking with friends I just spontaneously gave her a kiss. Little did I realize that she had other than friend ideas in her own head.

To make a long story a bit shorter...we have been married for 24 years. I couldn't imagine being with anyone else, and she still thinks I am the bomb :D

I can only hope your relationship is as fruitful as mine has been.
