I just met Ronnie Turner. Son of Ike and Tina. Got to play one of Ike's Fender basses. That was a weird chance meeting at a 7-11.

vas930 08-26-2011 08:32 PM

How the hell did that go down?

slodave 08-26-2011 08:56 PM

I was in 7-11, chatting with this guy I know from the local Subway. He was there with his roommate, picking up Friday nights libations. We started talking guitars and this guy chimes in. I showed him a pic of the guitar I made and asked him if he knew what it was and if it was new or old. He guessed old. After telling him I made it, he said he had an issue with his bass and would I look at it. He then introduced himself. The man sure can talk...

I went on tour with Dick Dale.
He was a real nice dude.

slodave 08-26-2011 09:09 PM

That's who played with strings upside down! How'd you swing that?

Anyone I have met by chance?

I promise, I will start coming to things again soon... Should be at September bfast...

I went on an east coast tour with my mates P/Billy band.
The tour was with Dick.
Three states in eight days.
We had a great time.
Man that dude could play.
Sad he died last year.
They also played with KISS. Good blokes also.

Got my 928 out of the shop after 3 months. Washed it. Went out to pull it in the garage...

@#&!%! the cooling fans are running and the dash lights are on like the key is on. The key isn't even in it. Starts up and runs, but won't turn off, have to kill it with the clutch...fans and dash still on/lit up. Pulled the ground on the battery to keep it from deep cycling it.

So much for going on the chicken run tomorrow.

We used to have an air cannon out here that would jack them close to a half mile out....

They fly real straight with 8" of arrow shaft and some flights on them....

Oh, why did I think he had died?
Was I thinking of Pinetop Perkins?
Are you sure.

slodave 08-26-2011 09:45 PM

Yup, he's got a show scheduled in Ventura this Sunday. :)

vas930 08-26-2011 09:51 PM

Yep, I just saw that.
Why did I think he died?
Anyhow he was a real nice bloke.
Happy to have a chat.

It was a hot day in Minnesota.

Helga hung out the wash to dry and then went downtown to pick up some dry cleaning.

"Gootness, it's hotter dan hell today," she mused to herself as she walked down Main Street .

She passed a tavern and thought, "Vy nodt?"

So she walked in and took a seat at the bar. The bartender walked up and asked her what she would like to drink.

"Ya know," Helga said in a timid voice, "I don't usually go into bars, but today I vill make an exception.. It is zo hot,I tink I'll have myself a cold beer."

"Anheuser Busch?" the bartender asked.

Helga blushed and timidly replied, "Vell fine, tanks, und how's yur viener?"
