Its made in America what do you expect..........

nynor 01-09-2012 09:00 AM

hah! i drove a rental dodge caliber from slc to boulder colorado and back. terrible. the handling was crap. the acceleration was crap. although, it did get me there and back and it was much cheaper, MPG, than my rover.

HHI944 01-09-2012 09:15 AM

At 8mpg its not hard to get better mileage than my rover. God I hate this thing, I want my Mercedes back....

nynor 01-09-2012 09:18 AM

which rover is it you drive? my disco MPG is bad, but it isn't that bad....

svandamme 01-09-2012 09:23 AM

I just had to change my order for Bimforce 1B
Turns out the 116 Efficient Dynamic edition is not homologated for a towing hook and run flats.
bummer
So replaced that with Cruise control & keyless entry.

And i'm gonna slap on a towing hook myself with a bolt-on kit of sorts.. they are out there and cheaper then OEM bmw...

the runflats i find more annoying, because i'll have to get a full size spare for those longer trips.

We have just one plotter. It is a 60 inch wide monster. All we ever print is 10 mil thick photo-gloss at 1440 x 2880. It makes amazing prints. Better than the old light sensitive real photographic paper. It is the Epson 11880.

nynor 01-09-2012 09:33 AM

it must be tough having to change options on the bimforce. ;)

i have some pictures that i'd love printed on that monster, glen.

i am so glad that californication is back. david duchovny rocks.

This is a KIP 7100 and its getting a software upgrade (I hope). The problem is that AutoCAD drawings go looking for the last printer used when you type plot. So rather than a quick nope its not here it spends close to a couple of minutes attempting to find it before moving on. Just a pain.

GH85Carrera 01-09-2012 09:41 AM

I made some 5 ft x 12 ft prints the other day. The customer has to have a BIG wall to hang a 5x12 ft print. That is a 60 sq ft print.

GH85Carrera 01-09-2012 09:45 AM

We use AutoCAD as little as possible. We have a few customers that want our aerial map dropped into a DWG file. We had one customer file that was so complex of a drawing we had to print it straight from AutoCAD. It cam out looking great but it took AutoCAD forever to RIP the file to the printer.

Well yeah, a towing hook means i no longer have to bother my uncle to come with his trailer just to take house remodeling rubbish to the container park.

And run flats means i don't have to worry about spare tires.. And they don't go flat as often to begin with...

It's a drag to give those up

Porsche-poor 01-09-2012 09:57 AM

Biggest I can do with the Kip is 36" wide and 10' long. Its a b/w toner based large format printer. Works great for drawings not much else. For color we have an IP720 Canon, 36" wide roll fed. Does a nice job for when we need it.

installing a tow hook yourself might void any warranty on the car.

not if it's bolt on...it's allowed here

but you are supposed to get a technical check done for roadworthyness, every year if you do aftermarket... the first 4 years , oem is excempt.
obviously nobody does , you wait for the cops to bust you , then say it was just bolted on last week
same with LPG fuel conversions.
