oh, yeah, that is a cool rig. for sure. is it the diesel? 8MPG seems awfully low. aren't those things aluminum bodied?

HHI944 01-09-2012 10:29 AM

Nope it's petrol. 8-9 is about normal in town. Yes, aluminum bodied, still weighs 6000lbs.

Biggest I can do with the Kip is 36" wide and 10' long. Its a b/w toner based large format printer. Works great for drawings not much else. For color we have an IP720 Canon, 36" wide roll fed. Does a nice job for when we need it.

There really is no limit to the size of a print we make except budget. Our printer software can tile an image. The only real limit is the 100 foot length of paper. We have a 8 ft x 12 ft print on our wall in the front lobby. It shows the OKC metro area and covers over 1,200 sq miles.

My RRC gets 12mpg around town, but is in need of a tune up.

Its a 2.25 liter inline 4...about 72hp
I see that site claiming under 3k lbs. ....nit sure what he's smoking...the vin plate shoes 2120kg unladen. So, a little over 4600....ok, I was a little high at 6k.......still not a light vehicle for 72hp.....

nynor 01-09-2012 11:41 AM

yeah, 4600 lbs is heavy.

i had a '77 landcruiser FJ40 with 400 ci chevy engine, racing heads (10:1 compression) and a competition rochester carburetor and a five speed. it got 12MPG on the freeway. i have no idea how much it got in the city. it had a locked front differential and could climb vertical cliffs. i only had it for about 6 months and realized that fuel alone was breaking the bank, so i sold it. the yahoos that bought it destroyed it within about two months. they were doing about 70 MPH on a DEEPLY rutted dirt road out in the desert and rolled it about five times. they survived due to the heavy full cage roll bar and four point harnesses. idgits.

HHI944 01-09-2012 12:06 PM

Its pretty hard to roll the old landys .......their so bottom heavy........I think their rated to 50 degrees sideways and 65 or 70 climbing and descending.

nynor 01-09-2012 12:24 PM

i never met these donuts, the vehicle was sold on consignment (1993, before the internet took off), but i was friends with the main mechanic at the local land cruiser specialty shop. he told me they brought the vehicle in flatbedded, as it was a twisted mess, and wanted it fixed. he said they looked like they came right out of the banjo scene in deliverance.

on a lighter and more positive note, my neighbor/good friend just got back from the ukraine and he brought a decorative ceramic egg from there and a bottle of french bordeaux. i am not sure why he brought me french wine, but i am excited to try it. the only french wines i've had are red biciclette and a couple of different beaujoulais. i've read up on it and this particular wine should be decanted and left to breathe for an hour. i am going to have to get my crystal wine decanter out and make sure it is nice and clean. :)

I'm sure we could figure out how to do something like that but its all cost driven aka you only get what you ask for.

Not many people or companies have room to display a photo that is HUGE. I have thought about printing a life size photo of my 911 for my garage but what the heck, the car is right there so why not just look at the car instead of a photo.

Evening guys, well we had enough snow and sleet here today for the state to drop salt. Lanna just went down for her long winter nap. :(

Dodge caliber........absolute garbage......

When G Kris and Dave were here, we took G's caliber out (Beth had the MB) and I couldn't even out run the cop that was following me. Foot on the floor and the cop never lost sight of us

Porsche-poor 01-09-2012 01:40 PM

could it have been a drive by wire system set in the rental car to only go so fast?

Rick V 01-09-2012 01:44 PM

No it was a Dodge caliber, they are crap covered in garbage and laced with junk. I rented one in Mo. and it had issues with flat ground

Porsche-poor 01-09-2012 01:56 PM

there is your problem you need to be going down hill. then again the doors would come open and increase the drag.

Rick V 01-09-2012 01:58 PM

Well having 4 full grown men in the damn thing didn't help either. I'm just glad the cop I was trying to outrun was my dad. G asked me what I would do if he flipped the lights on, I said flip him off and keep going. :)

Porsche-poor 01-09-2012 01:59 PM

ahhh the benefits of relatives.

Porsche-poor 01-09-2012 02:00 PM

I only tried and got away with it once...........never again. I was 17 and stupid.
