Nice. A couple of years stocking up and shipping back would be nothing to sneeze at. Good deal azzy. Kudos to mr azzy

thanks Jeff, time for bed for me. At least Hubby is getting a good nights sleep for a change, the last couple of weeks he has been a bit stressed!!!

Outback Porsche 03-08-2012 03:39 AM

night azzy. I'm still pottering around, looking for stuff to pack for our road trip. Sorted the camera and laptop, now updating the gps.

So this is sort of like the movie "Coming to America"

With a 3 year deployment you should have some time to explore this country. As you know the lower 48 states are about the same size as down under. I doubt you will have time to explore Alaska or Hawaii. ;)

Hopefully we can work out a big Stijn meeting.

GH85Carrera 03-08-2012 05:17 AM

Good morning folks. We are getting some of that clear water stuff falling from the sky. I think Azzy called it RAIN. I hope it sticks around for a couple of days. It needs to clear up for the weekend! :D

Ugh. hardly slept at all last night it seems. From thinking about the girl to thinking about the finishing touches (actually some bigger pieces) that need to be put on a big lab report for a group robot project (the other group members have pieces that I can't write myself), to thinking about the essay I need to write for English, to thinking about finals... My brain never seemed to tun off.

Oddly I feel much more energetic/rested than I normally do when I wake up here at school.

Max, just ask her a simple question to start a conversation. If you don't ask her out the answer is always no. The worst that happens is she says no and is cruel about it. If that happens just reply "Then I guess a blow job is out of the question" and then duck and walk away fast.

I'm repeating the advice i've given out before.

Punch yerself in the nuts each time you catch yerself thinking of that chick.
The obsession will soon fade and balance will be restored to the Force.

porsche4life 03-08-2012 11:16 AM

Max, talk to her, be sincere, be sweet, and funny. Show her that you aren't playing around, and that she matters.

svandamme 03-08-2012 11:27 AM

Flipping hell, did this thread just become a dating advice thread?!!?

I hope not, Stijn.
But it would be nice to see Max with a good woman. :)

Easy to say, tough to do. I was a shy kid that had a tough time talking to girls. BTDT. I learned girls don't usually bite, and they can be fun to spend time with.

GH85Carrera 03-08-2012 11:29 AM

Howdy Vas.

not sure about that one, might end up with some physical injury!!!!

Max, from the woman's perspective, all I can say is just start giving her a bit of a smile and looks and then start up a conversation, give her a chance to see that your a nice guy, ask her out for a chat, coffee, drink, but I would prefer a coffee and cake. Going out for a drink is usually in too much of a crowded noisy place, not much opportunity for getting to know one another, unless you have somewhere nice and quiet, where you can talk. Movies, no opportunity for talking . I know my hubby was very shy, we were good friends at work, but he was just not up to asking me out, so I asked him out in the end, gave up waiting. But in retrospect having about 8-10 months of getting to know one another at work was a good thing, we were friends first, then jumped in the sack. Most people do it the other way round these days, and if all is not great, it doesn't last, because they are not friends who want to sort things out.

my 2 cents worth.

svandamme 03-08-2012 11:32 AM

everybody always told me "be yourself"
So i did
Then the girls got scared
people told me "stop being so friggin scary!"

BUT YOU TOLD ME TO BE MY SELF !

Oh I know that, been there done that many, many times. Just have to swallow your fears and know that the worst that can happen is she says no. You have to be confident in yourself, but not cocky. You see what you want Max, now go make it happen.
