It's raining here now. Maybe this means the weekend will be dry? Storms moving through faster than expected? Long Beach would be interesting in the wet. Probably would mean most of the race under yellow flags, though. I haven't seen it in the wet before.

What's wrong, David?

nynor 04-12-2012 08:32 AM

think about it for a second and keep in mind that my sense of humor is rather dark and dry. the cancer only sharpened that humor. my father was never amused by the things i had to say about having cancer. especially when it was suggested that i go to a 'support group'..... LOL!!!!

My Mom had lymphoma at the base of her spine when I was very young. Did chemo and radiation. Had a scare some years back about some lumps around her jaw area. She had some scans but I think they determined they were not malignant at least. She's fine now.

I'm guessing the Lance Armstrong kind.

During summer a gray marine layer sky every once in a while is a nice break from the heat and long hours of sun. And I like when there is blue sky with big cumulous clouds. But when it is just gray for days in a row it really starts to get me depressed. The first day it makes all the green plants seem more vibrant, however.

I wouldn't do well in Washington or Oregon.

ugh.... coastal washington would kill me. seattle is a nice place to visit, IMO, but the weather.....

It's not the cooties I'm worried about. They have ways to make you feel terrible if they don't like you.

Hoping to meet female friends of hers. Seen at least one engineer that is in a class with her and whom I had never seen before. Looks like the friend zone is the best place to look after all. Not getting any good (or bad, really) vibes from the other girl (blonde/blue eyes).

I visited New Zealand and Australia during their winter. New Zealand had a lot of clouds, cool weather, but not much rain. It was very Lord of the Rings-ish.

My Dad said he just went to the start of the Targa California. It is right near our house in Thousand Oaks. He is not going on the drive but saw some of our friends that are.

I'm in 11th place in the thread but now there is a big gap to Markus in 10th. I don't know how I will feel if I pass him. :(

nynor 04-12-2012 08:56 AM

I've noticed that some of my photos look real cool if I tilt the laptop screen a few more degrees, but I don't want to edit the photo like that because I don't think that effect (partially due to having a light shining through the colors) will transfer to a print or to other monitors. And it does tend to increase the contrast and make the shadows too dark.

I don't really print photos anymore, just look on the computer, so they are fine for what I do. I think they look better as my desktop wallpaper.

Which post prompted that response? Was it the edit to #56702? I've said way more mushy stuff than that- I think.

It is sad that the starter of this thread is no longer here. Really I don't care. It's just an internet thread. Just trying to keep with the Stijn! decorum of honoring the original posters.

Flieger 04-12-2012 09:07 AM

If I pass him it would also mean I really need to get a life since he had a couple years head start on me at least.

Flieger 04-12-2012 09:10 AM

I still can't figure out how Rick has that many posts. His are usually really short so it doesn't seem like he has said that much.

nynor 04-12-2012 09:12 AM

huh.... its been a solid month since markus posted here. what's up?
