sister got her landlord over, trying to raise the rent on the ground that he was going to put in double glazing

First mistake : trying to increase rent immidiately when the double glazing isn't even installed

Second mistake : giving her a letter for the rent increase.. that says ,effective immidiately , when there's no date on the letter
No date means "nothing is effective immidiatly" , immediatly could be 2012 for all we care.

Third mistake : blabbing on about how he got subsidised for those improvements, when i know for fact those subsidies state you can't raise rent for the improvements in question.
I know people who work at city hall, they will gladly look into those way the subsidy was given... and i'm sure they will happily ask for a refund

forth mistake : He can't raise rent anyway, just like that according to the rental laws

fith mistake : thinking he could get away with it, thinking my sister would just take his word for it because she's working in a sheldered workplace, and isn't a lawyer... when i'm looking after her

Douchebag even dared putting on the letter, that as a compromise, he would not increase rent due to inflation (which is indexed by law)...
There's no bloody inflation, there's deflation, he'll get slapped with a rent decrease! Already got the letter ready to go...
And i'll make sure the others in the building know about this as well...

I'm no lawyer, but i'll make sure he checks with his lawyer before trying any kind of **** like this again.

It's not a major thing, sis is on the short list for social housing.... It's a matter of principle.
I just hate these stinking dirtbags that take advantage of those who can't defend themselves.
They buy up a property, to minimal effort to split a 3 story house into crummy appartments.
And then cash in 3-4 times the amount of rent of what it costs them in mortage.

They milk the rent, and when the mortage is up, they can sell the dump as is, and still make a killing due to inflation on the housing market.

It almost makes me wish i had bothered studying, i would have made an excellent lawyer.. and with my current mindset... i would have loved going after douchebags like that...

Have you gotten in touch with your inner Rick?

svandamme 01-10-2010 10:28 AM

No Rick, i took a massive dose of LSD in 2005, spaced out completely for 12 hours, snapped out of it, noticed my appartment was thrashed and became a Buddhist.

Rick V 01-10-2010 10:32 AM

Good. At work when someone gets mad they call it getting in touch with their inner Rick. I think I have become my own state of mind.

svandamme 01-10-2010 10:39 AM

lol

I rarely get physically mad, i get exited, worked up, i rant occasionally, but rarely do i get physically mad.
Only once got so bad where i almost got to the point of doing damage, had been home for stress/burn out, full week.. they called that grandpa was dying... went back home ( hadn't been there in 3-4 years, no contact), grandpa died, and the whole family agreed to go to the funeral place to visit grandpa when he was first laid out, or how you call it... you know, "prepped"..

My darling mother was the only one not there, i saw grandma's heart, break at the moment she realized he was really gone... sis also cracked, mum not there.

i stormed to her place, on foot, just 1 km away...
she came up with lame arguments that my youngest sister couldn't be left at home...
but her new husband ( who i had never met) was at the place.. he should have stayed at home...

Anyway, he started to interfere... told him to butt out...At this point i was working up pure rage... he kept medling, warned him again..
then he stuck his hand out, and before i knew i had my left hand on his throat, against the wall with his feet dangling... and my right one was cocked for punching...
This is a 50 year old farmers son, heavy built and with plenty of mass...
i've got a skinny build, i've sene chicks with bigger wrists and biceps then me...But it didn't matter, i had him, and i could have set his clock to a different time zone, right there and then..

managed to work up some last second restraint, and walked out.
He's been skittish around me ever since, and that's fine by me..

Well. I shoulda taken the omen from the 944 and stayed home. First run out I had a nasty spin in the vw. Survived it. Second run steam out the vents. Antifreeze at my feet. Popped the heater core finally. :(

Rick V 01-10-2010 12:10 PM

hmmmmmmmmmmm do I need to amend my vid?
You didn't get burned did ya?

porsche4life 01-10-2010 12:15 PM

No burns. Haven't seen the vid. Can't watch it on my phone. ;)

svandamme 01-10-2010 12:20 PM

Maybe you should try another hobby. I dunno, ping pong per haps?

Rick V 01-10-2010 12:26 PM

BTW, the heater core in a corrado is fun to replace. Soon you will understand why I refuse to work on anything VAG, all that training learned me to avoid those cars.
Glad to hear you weren't burned. I have seen others not so lucky.

porsche4life 01-10-2010 12:44 PM

Oh I've heard the stories about the corrado heater cores....
