engine apart yet?

Geronimo '74 01-10-2010 09:18 PM

Of course.... not... :D

I need to buy me some more tools first...

svandamme 01-10-2010 09:22 PM

to clarify, when i got there, there were hardly any tools.
just a small set of sockets 6-13.. and wrenches...

porsche4life 01-10-2010 09:31 PM

Thats a candyassed set of tools for a man your age.... Hell I take more than that with me to autocross events for JIC stuff... and those are all MY tools... Get to work... All men need lots of tools

slodave 01-10-2010 09:39 PM

Yeah, even I have an overstuffed 4 drawer toolbox and I don't even have a garage to work in. Granted, I bought a lot of tools as I was removing my engine the first time. :)

porsche4life 01-10-2010 09:44 PM

I have been lucky... My dad is a tool whore and I have gotten some stuff from him cuz it was too good a deal to pass up... and The first few wrenches and the Craftsman 5drawer unit that is made to set on the bottom rolling unit was my christmas when I was about 15

slodave 01-10-2010 09:46 PM

Unfortunately, all of my dads sockets and wrenches are SAE....

your dad made you pay for his second hand tools?

porsche4life 01-10-2010 09:51 PM

I should edit that... My dad bought tools to give too me b/c he thought they were too cheap too NOT buy... he has no use for lots of metric stuff so it gets given to me...

porsche4life 01-10-2010 09:53 PM

My dad may be an ass to work for but he's not a total dick.....

He makes sure my tool box is well stocked. :D Keeps me from stealing his stuff.... Remind me next weekend and I will take some pictures of his shop for y'all... Is chaos.... With a half ass attempt at Organization...

nynor 01-10-2010 09:53 PM

brilliant! will he adopt me? he'll have an instant grandson....

porsche4life 01-10-2010 09:54 PM

He didn't want a son.... He didn't want any kids... Which is why I am the only...

And no... I won't allow it.... I don't wanna have to share the tools....

nynor 01-10-2010 10:02 PM

but, see, i am ready made, raised, as it were, with a grandson to help out! ask him!

porsche4life 01-10-2010 10:03 PM

I doubt he stand for having two sons with Porsches before he has one of his own...

And that still doesn't solve me not wanting to share the tools...

nynor 01-10-2010 10:06 PM

he can have my 951, except on AX days.

you seriously need a sibling, to learn how to share.

porsche4life 01-10-2010 10:08 PM

To freeking late now... I'm set in my selfish ways... :D

But if you lived closer we might work out a deal where you could use the tools and the shop...

In exchange for beer... For me.... Dad doesn't drink...

porsche4life 01-10-2010 10:21 PM

Well hell... I'm going to bed.... Night boyz....

Is it out or not, the engine???
Last time I checked, it was out, up until now I didn't need any more tools.
And I'm sure I can do a lot of the disassembling with that same set of sockets and wrenches...
But I'll be buying more tools anyway...
Now you go and verify whether you can use my old P/C's, I'll sell them to you, cheap. (P/C do come as a set, if you only need cylinders, that's ok, but the price stays the same :D )
