Whew, I am tired and not yet done. We slept in until 6:45 am and got the dogs fed, and the first round of F1 qualifying watched. Went to the driveway and washed Mrs. Carrera's car and the Elky. I swapped the Carrera to the main bay and got it jacked up and did a visual inspection of everything, cleaned and tightened the ground strap for the transmission. Then I pulled the starter. I decided I needed to mow and edge before it got to the predicted 99F. Right now I am in cool off mode sitting in the garage with a cold beer. Next step is put the replacement starter on. The old starter works fine 99% of the time. Only on Long road trips when it gets heat soaked it will refuse to work until it cools down.

My wife came into the garage and said in her opinion I currently have a slight unpleasant aroma. She refused to give me a hug until I shower. I am offended! It is just a mainly man musk ;). OK I even think I stink right now. I need to get the starter on and the replace the brake fluid. Dang I am happy my garage is air conditioned.

Hey Rick how in the heck it can I get to the bolt for the transmission ground strap on the transmission side? The other end is easy, but I can't see any way to get the the tranny side. The tranny mount is in the way. I will have to assume it is tight and OK.

Where are you?

My next door neighbor just came over to warn me off the roofing nails in the yard. He had one that went through his shoe. He came right back to show he had gotten another walking back.

The roofers had a guy that did nothing but pick up nails and sweeping with a big magnet the whole two days they were working on the roof and the whole crew canvased around the house for an hour after they finished.

RKDinOKC 06-23-2012 04:12 PM

Sure hope I don't get a flat tire. A friend got 3 flats after his house was re-roofed.

Rick V 06-23-2012 04:16 PM

Well if you get enough of them in a tire you can call it a studded tire

A quarter inch drive extention and swivel will do it.
I couldn't get a 3/8 drive on to it.
Go in above the trans. mount.

Or just use a plasma cutter

The ground strap at tranny side has the strap in the way. I can't get an extension or any wrench on it.

GH85Carrera 06-23-2012 07:37 PM

The replacement starter works. :). The brake fluid has been changed. I asked my wife what she cooked up for dinner and she a said a bad attitude. I ordered a pizza.

oh, classic. i can relate. for the record, my wife has the most even disposition of anyone i have ever known. on occasion, however, a pizza is just the ticket.

Ok, D.
Thats enough with the PMs.
I dont reply as there is nothing to say.
So please stop with them as they are getting nasty.
I have a great life and wont waste time with these childish games.
The fact that I dont reply seems to make you more angry.
So for your own sake, please stop.
I have posted this here so the others you have PM understand.
That last PM has gone to far.
Dont say something to someone online you would not say to his face.
Let it go. :)

all yours, Dave ?

slodave 06-23-2012 08:33 PM

None are! :D I just get the hand-me-downs on permanent loan. The D100 is the first DSLR Nikon made, way out of date, but works. The D2x I just turned in. Nikon is very quiet about their camera releases, no real advance notice. The D2x came out and there was a rumor of the D200, but my dad gave up waiting on the D200 and bought the D2x, a few weeks later, the D200 came out. :D Go figure. The D300 was his primary camera until a week ago, when he picked up the D800e. I'll have to give him the D300 two or three times a year when he goes on photography trips.

slodave 06-23-2012 08:36 PM

The D800 has a 36MP sensor. The biggest out there at the moment.
