Just got back from a photo shoot for an ad for PMB Performance. It's gonna be in Excellence. A series actually. One of the ads will have my car. One has Magnus. One has some 914s that are owned by a couple friends of ours that I met today and got to chat with.

After the photo shoot I went over and saw a POC buddy - Craig T here on Pelican who is building a street car now after selling all of his racing stuff.

So a fun, Porsche-filled day with friends.

(and that will be the second time my car is in Excellence but the ad is in grayscale. Eric won't shell out for color. :D)

The above was the day the two of us did a very stupid thing. I could careless at the time, I never expected the guy and his GF behind me to follow.

You can't make a comment like that and not spill it.

Mulholland Drive is a very windy two lane road. Not to be confused with Mulholland Highway. That day, I was not in a good mood and did not care what happened. :) There is an intersection at the top of Mulholland that has a triangle (concrete) in it and various stop lights. I had heard a rumor that if done right (late at night), you can drive straight through the wrong side of the road (one lane at this point) and never lift. It's true! Yet I did it at around 2:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. Problem is that you can't see oncoming traffic. Last minute decision, I said "effe" it and kept the throttle down. I came around the bend, saw that the light was not in my favor and a few others in the group in front, had stopped for the light. No one was coming my "way" - a very good thing - and I threw up quite the dust cloud as I passed by, the other friend right behind me. He had no idea what I was planning to do and no idea of what could have happened.

You have heard me say I am not going to drive Lanna because I am in a bad mood. That is the reason right there.

slodave 07-14-2012 01:34 AM

That was a defining moment. It was very dumb, but I do look back and smile. :D

We went on a funrun up in W.Va one time and stopped at a store so the ladies could use the facilities. The store just happened to be at a major intersection with a red light, and as luck would have it I caught at it in mid pack. Well as I am waiting for the light to turn and let me go left to try and catch the front of the group I hear a 996 open up from my right across the parking lot. Our friend Van (who I named Mad Man Van) decided he wasn't going to wait. Full throttle across the parking lot, between the gas pumps, across my bow, through the red light, behind a tractor trailer and in front of a car heading through the light.
When we stopped later I asked him WTF he was thinking. His comment was he thought I was stopping to let him go ahead of me..............................
He said in a rather heavy Korean accented voice, "Red light? I didn't see no stinking red light".
His wife will not ride with him, I wonder why.

Ya gotta do, what ya gotta do. :D

Good morning folks. We are up early and about to hot the road towards home. Our goal is Hays Kansas. If I get tired we will use the gps to find a motel close by. Hays Kansas is about 5 hours from home. We can have a short drive tomorrow and get home in time to do a lot of laundry, and mow the yard.

I've often thought of doing just that while waiting at that light. But have never been desperate (angry?) enough to actually need to do that.
