Evening Y'all. Our crappy weather turned into a few hours of freezing rain. Not too bad.
The owner decided that because we closed monday and tuesday that we would all be docked 30% this week.
He was not at home when I knocked on his door after work

Porsche-poor 12-26-2012 03:29 PM

Good luck with that. Sounds like a jerk of the tip top level.

Good afternoon folks.

Another day spent at the hospital with dad. He was doing better in the Skilled Nursing home and getting a little stronger. Then last night at 1:00 AM he got a nosebleed from hell. At 7:00 AM the nurse gave up and called me as to which hospital to send him to. They shoved a huge bandage up his nose and inflated it with air. That stopped the bleeding for now but that can't stay in place for too long. I had to run to the office to put out a few hot jobs and just got home. I will have to run back to the hospital tonight.

They think he aspirated enough blood to get pneumonia, and that is why they are keeping him.

He is a tough old guy. He has survived two hernia operations, prostate cancer, skin cancer, a listeria infection, one stroke, leukemia, gall bladder operation, and a new heart valve. The oncologist for the leukemia gave him just 6 months to live three years ago.

I sent him a text and told him to make sure he showed up at the shop tomorrow. Lets see if his pussy ass ex marine self has the stones. I am betting no

Rick V 12-26-2012 03:33 PM

Sending good thoughts to your dad Glen

Porsche-poor 12-26-2012 03:35 PM

GH85Carrera 12-26-2012 03:36 PM

Thanks Rick.

I have a feeling dad will be oogeling nurses again in no time flat

Jim Richards 12-26-2012 03:43 PM

I hope your dad is better ASAP, Glen.

D, thanks for the wing on a string info. Knowing my dog, that wouldn't be of much use to us. She's only interested if the critters are in motion.

GH85Carrera 12-26-2012 04:21 PM

Yea, dad still had a lot of blood on his face from coughing up blood, some oozing out of his nose and mouth. He was looking like hell. The nurse was asking the same questions he has answered over and over. She asked if he had ever had cataract or lens replacement and she told him he had pretty blue eyes. He asked the nurse if she was flirting with him :). And yes he has done that surgery as well.

aspirating blood is not good. the only thing that pisses off a persons lungs worse than blood is stomach acid. (in terms of normal biology. obviously, inhaling sulfuric acid fumes is gonna be worse, but aspirating blood is very bad juju.)

oh, boy. i am having similar issues at work.... not docked pay, mind you, but stupid crap. oh, wait.... it could end up in a smaller raise for next year, even though it isn't my fault....

what kind of dog do you have?

i am going to make a short video, i think. it is almost comical how completely focused this little pup gets with the 'wing on a string'.
