it is about torque. mine has about 50 ft/lbs of torque. a jap bike making nearly twice the HP is barely making that much torque.

when i ride with the sport bike guys, they obviously have a fast flat out speed, but i can walk away from them in the twisties due to the torque/power curve. less shifting and grunt makes a huge difference.

joe, how does one core the pipes?

HHI944 01-15-2013 08:28 AM

I love the fact that this is the baby Duc and she still wants to come up in 3rd with my big ass. AAAAAANNNNNNDDDD, no japcrap has the sound. The sound of an angry italian V Twin is hard to match. Hey hoe much oil do I need for a change?

Take it to a good aftermarket shop and the essential remove the last 3/4 of baffle in the center

Morning. SmileWavy

morning, jeff.

well, i got three runs in at brighton. i have a rule: i snowboard until i feel fatigued or when i cannot feel my feet, whichever comes first. three runs and i couldn't feel my feet. there were little crystals precipitating, no clouds, no snow, just these tiny little crystals. it was damn cold. then the wind started.

HHI944 01-15-2013 02:17 PM

Well, did a full belt inspection, changed plugs and an oil change. Gonna rig up the trickle charger when I get home. She's running beautifully

Hello gentlemen.

I'm trying to check in here every now and then, but the thread pages move so fast I never get to really catch up.

Hope everyone is well.

Sid, did you ever get any further on the 924S?

porsche4life 01-15-2013 02:35 PM

Bahahahah!!!

When did you take up comedy Mike?

I'm trying to get rolling again after this current cold spell breaks, way too cold to be in the garage right now. I haven't been home since may though, so before now I haven't been able to work on it as I've been gone.

Icemaster 01-15-2013 02:39 PM

Christ I hate traveliing coast to coast.

Icemaster 01-15-2013 02:40 PM

BTW, afternon everyone.

Schumi 01-15-2013 02:40 PM

Just keep thinking- it's actually less work than it looks.

Once you get into a groove, as long as you have the parts it will go together smooth.

porsche4life 01-15-2013 02:44 PM

Ya if I can it some momentum it won't be terrible. Just the matter of getting rolling on while juggling 25-30 hrs of work and 12 hrs of class....

Evening Y'all, I am waiting for the selfish people to finally drag their asses here so we can unload the truck in the rain, and looking at the time frame it looks like I am going to get only a few hours of sleep tonight. We also fired the other inspector today so that means I am going to be slammed at work. Gee I am happy.
Great lookin' bike Joe

Outback Porsche 01-15-2013 04:08 PM

Evening Rick,

Have fun. Remember, it's all for the little nose miners ;)
