some testing would come in handy! like say the above picture, see how much of an arc you can get off of it.

It makes my hair stand up some. Even the hair on my arms.

I take my keys out of my pocket and hold a metal key and walk up to the light switch and let the spark jump from my key to the screw on the light switch plate. With the spark jumping from the key to the ground source it does not hurt, but I can feel the discharge because the hair on my head moves. I bet the spark jumps an inch or more.

It was a beautiful and sunny day out in the hills of Malibu today.

Porsche-poor 01-18-2013 06:09 PM

The temp is falling thru 36 and the fog is rolling in again.

pete3799 01-18-2013 06:23 PM

I have but one degree. Soon to be none.

Noah930 01-18-2013 06:24 PM

Crazy. It was hovering around freezing temps at the beginning of the week (albeit overnight temps), and tomorrow it's projected to be around 80.

Porsche-poor 01-18-2013 06:34 PM

It has been a strange one here this week.

Outback Porsche 01-18-2013 07:33 PM

Well, that was painful!

slodave 01-18-2013 07:34 PM

Sticking a screwdriver into your hand usually is.

Outback Porsche 01-18-2013 07:36 PM

Yup.

or a finger in your eye,

or a fresh install of XP into Sharyn's HP Mini

Probably similar to the phone call I got today for the guy who mangled his fingertip via Skilsaw.

slodave 01-18-2013 07:39 PM

If mangling your fingertip in a skilsaw is anything like sticking two of your fingertips into a R/C airplane prop that's running at 3/4 throttle, then no, sticking a screwdriver tickles in comparison.
