A cold chill just ran down my spine. You said the "s" word.

Sorry to hear about your Gigi, D.

We might try to buy a small pickup truck to support our remodeling work here in SoCal. Looked at one earlier this afternoon. Seemed OK mechanically, but the body was pretty rough. Too high an asking price for what he was selling. Looking at 2 more tomorrow.

porsche4life 12-31-2012 04:55 PM

What are you looking at Jim? Might be better buying a truck in the central states and driving it out.... Cheaper anyways....

Jim Richards 12-31-2012 05:25 PM

Thanks for the suggestion, Sid, but I'm looking for something cheap ($5-6k). The travel and vacation days burned getting here would probably be too significant for buying this cheap a truck.

I understand that, just saying 5-6k would probably buy more truck outside of CA...

I agree. But my travel expenses and the dollar value of my vacation days bringing it to SoCal would equal 15-20% of the purchase price ($5-6k). I can't imagine getting more savings on a given truck, or more truck for a given cost by purchasing in the central states. Maybe I'm wrong.

BTW, I'm looking at Ford Rangers, Mazda B3000, and Nissan Frontiers with extended cabs. Taco's are too pricey.

slodave 12-31-2012 06:23 PM

But tacos are sooo good! I like soft tacos.

tweezers74 12-31-2012 07:08 PM

Me too, Dave!

GH85Carrera 12-31-2012 07:09 PM

We made it back from the party safely.

slodave 12-31-2012 07:09 PM

Did you get nekked?

Jim Richards 12-31-2012 07:11 PM

I like burritos more than tacos.

GH85Carrera 12-31-2012 07:11 PM

Nope. Real tame party. The host family is pretty tame. Today is their daughter's birthday. She turned 18. Very cute girl. No booze, no loud music, just conversation.

Nothing like a grande carne asada!

Max is quiet tonight. Maybe he's already passed out drunk... Naw!

Yea, he is likely at a wild party at the local strip joint. I bet Bigfoot drove him and he will ride a unicorn back home. :).

Happy New year Stijners. It is 10:30 here. Time for bed for us before we turn into pumpkins.

That somehow rings a bell.

Glen, you party animal. Speaking of which, it's time for me to walk the dog. Whoo Hoo!

Icemaster 12-31-2012 08:05 PM

Happy New Year's boys.
