When I was about 4 I remember my dad taking me along to visit some friends Von and Jenny. I don't remember why my Mom didn't come along, she usually did when we went to visit the Hayflea's. Von and Jenny were out in the garage behind the house working on his very fast Gremlin. I will never forget the scene. Von was working away and Jenny was handing him tools. It was like watching a surgeon and his nurse. His tools were always clean as brand new and put away neatly. I don't think he ever touched one without it being handed to him by his wife. They stopped working long enough to share a coffee break with Dad, then went right back to work.

It was 1964.

Happy as in content with and not opening up and immediately tossing aside. He's been asking for more/ new tools.

I completely agree G-meister, and I have them sitting in my condo, sans tires. I want to get some more use out of the existing rubber before making the switch.

Jim Richards 02-12-2013 08:22 AM

BTW G, are you married yet or still doing the friend with benefits thing?

Geronimo '74 02-12-2013 08:31 AM

Not married, yet.
Not friends with benefits either, that time is through.
Going steady now, leading the good life...

What kind of wheels do you have lying around?

Jferr006 02-12-2013 08:33 AM

Good choice!

Cup wheels, a tiny bit of lowering and your car is perfect.
If I hadn't invested so much in my car, i'd be looking for a low milage 964.

Porsche-poor 02-12-2013 08:47 AM

Yes he should since he started this whole thing. Oh well just proves you both have lives.

Geronimo '74 02-12-2013 08:48 AM

I like to think so yes :)

Jferr006 02-12-2013 08:48 AM
