It depends on the company. When that rouge California deer attacked me in the 911 my adjuster was a dream. He offered to have the car hauled home at no cost to me. He never blinked at the cost to fix my car at the place I picked. Just like it should be.

so, i take my four year old to the park with a new kite. he has never flown a kite before. he seems pretty stoked. we get the kite in the air without difficulty and i let him get it to altitude. he has literally been flying the kite for 60 seconds and says, "i am done." he then hands me the string handle thingy and starts walking back to the rover.... i was literally dumbfounded and speechless. i have to call him back, because he got nearly 100 yards away before i noticed, because i was winding the kite string back in.

i don't know what to make of it.... i'll wait until he asks me to get it out again.

That was not a joke it really really happened, I promise. Just like a politician, I would never say anything untrue or even stretch the truth. I am like a product from Apple, you can trust me. Yea, that's the ticket, just like Apple, sure.

Now where is the green font?

I thought a few seconds and asked, "what kinda ammo ya got?"

OK, perhaps I should have specified medical insurance company adjusters.

Rick V 04-18-2013 03:45 PM

Insurance companies exist for nothing more than to line the pockets of the top brass.

D, sometimes kids can just burst your happy bubble with out even trying!!!

Some of the stuff I thought the boys would really love, they were like,... meh!

And other stuff, they really loved, like the aforementioned cardboard boxes, playdo, playing in a big bathtub full of bubbles with a heap of tupperware stuff, playing on the kitchen floor with a heap of tupperware and metal saucepans stuff, and a wooden spoon. Sometimes its just the simple stuff that gets them.

We used to spend hours making paper planes and sending them off the balcony in competitions.

So don't be too upset, he was probably wanting to get home to do something else, like go to the restroom or something!!

nynor 04-18-2013 04:06 PM

i am taking it a bit personally, for sure. although, i am keeping in mind that he is only four. he did want to hold my hand all the way back to the rover, so it wasn't too terrible.

i was/am just dumbfounded that he wasn't more into it. i was just getting into the groove of flying the thing, as i haven't flown a kite since i was about eight. i bet he brings he it up all weekend while i am at work.

i'll wait a couple of years and we'll build a kite.

Ah! That's a brilliant idea. Our house has only one upstairs room. Two weeks ago the dog tore a hole in the screen of the only window the kids (and apparently the dog) can reach. I haven't fixed the screen yet, but until I do it'll be a perfect launching place for paper planes.

I even bought a book on how to design the best paper planes, had to bring more paper home from work to keep them amused.

In Canberra we used to have a competition every year, sponsored by the local paper, you had to use a particular page from the paper, make a paper plane, and in the local large Basketball Arena they parked a new car in the middle with the sunroof open, if you got the plane in the sunroof you won the car. Believe it or not some years it didn't go off. The launch had to be from the walkway around the arena, above all the seating. A lot of fun.

Then of course the boys got bigger and went through Peewee 50, 80s, 125's, and then 250 trail bikes.

James now also has a bike he rides on the hard stuff and plays with the cars. David can't wait to get his license, he turns 15 next week!!!

oh for the days of them playing inside where I knew they were safe. The umbilical cord is getting stretched to the max these days.
