Got my squirrel exit installed today. Put a pvc tube about 2 foot long out the hole the squirrels got in thru, then made sure the rest of the usually places were sealed up. They can get out, but not back in. I can hear them buggars scampering all over the attic, assume they are looking for another way out.

'Sup all.

Went to the job fair last Wednesday, got a good prospect on this place called Quartus Engineering in LA. Then went to Long Beach ALMS race on Saturday. Came back Sunday to work on FSAE car. 4pm-6:30am in the hangar. Oh, and somewhere between Wednesday and then I had gotten sick. It hit me on Saturday night and was really getting me around 2 in the morning Monday. On the plus side, I got to see the sunrise, which was nice.

Lots of action at the hairpin in the first half of the race. Falken was looking good. I will be uploading pictures to flickr at some point and will post some of the better ones here. I forgot to take a picture with Regan and Carolyn Pappas at the POC booth in the expo center.

My favorite guitar player, Jorma Kaukonen. Though I like David Gilmour just as much, but for a different kind of vibe from the music - more spacey, soothing, contemplative rather than the energy of 3/5ths of a mile in 10 seconds.

So far I'm the only one sick here so I wonder if the shrimp was bad. I was the only one who ate it.

Well, it was quick at least. 4:30 today, no pain. That's all I cared about. Thanks again for all the well wishes folks. I also mis typed...she was 95.

Thought a lot about her today. For almost 20 years we had a running joke about my facial hair. I always had some form or another and it was always changing. Every time I saw her she would tell me she didn't like it and told me she preferred clean shaven....like my grandfather ALWAYS was. My response was always a good natured face rubbin along with a kiss.

I knew last night it was time to shave completely and I was right.

My favorite memory will always be the sight of her wading into a flock of roosters wielding a 2 x 4, "striking down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger".

A story for another time.

My wife's grandmother was a world class chicken killer. She could wring a chicken neck with a flick of the wrist. She raised a 6 kids on a farm in the middle of nowhere during the dust bowl years with no electricity and no indoor plumbing.

She was the same generation as your Gram. Tough as nails when necessary.

Well, a full day of work, then chilling with some pals, smoking a cigar made especially for one of them by one of the biggest names in the industry. Life is good ;)

Icemaster 04-22-2013 06:45 PM

Condolences Michael, way to keep the good memories forefront. Best to you.

HHI944 04-22-2013 06:58 PM

Another condolences and good for you remembering the good. Sounds like she and my Grandma would have been fast friends. My Grandma didn't quite make it that far, but she was a tough ol bird to the very end. I remember her getting pissed off at the dog when she was about 80, grabbing him by the scruff of the neck and hurling him through the screen door.

We have a nice little thunderstorm approaching. After that the temps drop to near freezing. :(

I AM READY FOR FREAKING SPRING !!!!!

The good news is we are getting more rain.

Flieger 04-22-2013 07:06 PM

Here's part of the concert after the race. I still think Steppenwolf a few years ago was the best.
