Pete yeah sorry to have missed you. That wind did suck. Elicia looked at me and gave me the warning that if it isn't warm next year she isn't coming...haha. Nephew was there with me. Every time a p-car would rev it's engine, he was looking around. |
Good morning folks.
The only time I went to Hershey was for the Porsche Parade. It was summer and HOT HOT HOT. Not quite as hot as Savannah but close. In fact I think the Concours was hotter at Hershey than at Savannah. I expect it will be much cooler in Traverse City, Michigan this year. I sure hope so. |
Break time. Need a donut.

Good Freakin Monday Dad Gum Morning

After Hershey on Saturday, on the drive home there were a few 911's tooling around on the highway being mischievous...hehe. One being a nice GT3RS. Then I heard the best words I could hear come out of Elicia's mouth. "Do they make them in automatic?" She doesn't know how to drive stick and a many of us have tried to teach her. But I got excited because she is getting more into these cars and I told her they make a Sport-o-matic and would you want a convertible. She said "yes please" Which I take as a green flag to get another P-Car. I will take what I can get at times.

Hey, the holea in my foot are getting smaller again!

That's great news, Richard.
David, I hope you recover quickly. |
Morning Peeps. Great weather over the weekend in NorCal but, got the news that my Gram went into ICU over the weekend. My mom and sibs had to make the tough call yesterday. Looks like the long day to day wait and a trip back home on short notice.
Beautiful morning here and feeling a little guilty about it. |
Sorry about your grandmother, Michael. Best wishes for all your family.
|
That sucks about your Gram Michael.
|
Micheal, best wishes for your Gram
|
Thanks all... She has wanted to go for awhile, has missed my Grand Dad terribly over the last 20 years. They issued a DNR and have removed all meds except for pain. 92 is a pretty good run and at least this wasn't a long, drawn out situation. They took her in to the ER Friday. I saw her last fall and internally had said my goodbyes.
When I taked to my mom this weekend she told me a humerous story I'd not heard from when my Grand Dad passed (that was quick too.. massive stroke followed by cardiac arrest). He told them that he didn't care about his services, only one request... No oak for his coffin. He didn't feel right about using good wood just to go into the ground, heh heh. Typical pragmatic Midwestern farmer. |
Hi everyone,
Michael, sorry to hear about your Gram, but 92, I'd be happy with that. The one thing I don't want is to linger in a hospital bed, and not be fully able to enjoy life. Although it is always so sad to say final goodbyes to family and friends, if they have had a good life, it is a bit easier to accept their passing. And as for your Gramps, what a character he must have been, I see why she has missed him so. Don't fancy being without my Hubby for that long. |
