Morning all.
Off to the show. Had a little mishap last night a tuner broke. Scared him to death.

Huh. Just heard Gabby Giffords is supposed to be riding in the neighborhoods 4'th parade.

I suspect after you crank out one batch you will want an electric one.

We have a high quality electric version. It has the wooden ice bucket. If I run it to the point the ice cream gets so thick the motor locks up it makes great ice cream. I can't imagine the effort to do that with a hand crank.

I remember as a kid sitting on grandpa's hand crank ice cream maker. The effort to crank was huge.

i've used both. that is why i have a strong preference for the hand-crank variety.

Our is the white mountain wood bucket. It is at least 15 years old. It will get used this weekend once again.

My parents used to make iceream all the time, I got tired of chipping my teeth on the frigging black berries and such. I'll stick to my bryers

I hope y'all are enjoying the holiday. We spent a few hours today talking with our contractor about the kitchen project and other possible projects. Lu's stoked about the progress and how it's satisfying all of her ideas to make the kitchen most useable. Happy wife = happy life. :D

Finally making progress is good news. Make the kitchen that the wife wants and scratch that issue off the list.

I spent the day catching up on missed sleep. I think I have been up for about four hours today

Jim Richards 07-04-2013 02:56 PM

Rest is good. Lu and I are getting ourselves used to the Pacific time zone. Hopefully we'll still be awake for tonight's fireworks.

They will be going off not too far from my house as in less than a mile, I am sure I will be up for them

Jim Richards 07-04-2013 03:00 PM

I spent the day being a lazy bum.

We watched the extended version of Gettysburg. It is a 4 hour movie.

Then I finally got a chance to watch the last 3.5 hours of the 2013 Lemans race. It was nice to see a 911 win again.
