Argo is a good movie, but it is a visual and thinking movie. They did a great job of recreating Iran during that era. Even though you know the ending before you see the movie they do build the suspense.

Richard, The Chase at the airport made me laugh. An army truck hitting 175 was pretty humorous. Didn't know I was watching Die Hard 47.
It was an OK movie. You didn't miss much. |
Yea the airplane chase scene was stupid.
|
Totally unnecessary too. Sad that will be what I remember the most...
You're right Glen, it was a little more cerebral. Still had great output from a bunch of actors. Kind of good to see Cranston with his hair back. |
Guess the effects of the pain pills kept me from enjoying the thinking part.

Like I said, I'm in Bakersfield on Tuesday. That's about 90 miles away. Sometimes I finish there at 5. Sometimes I finish there at 2. Somehow I never know what the schedule is like until after it's happened. But even if I leave Bakersfield by 5, I should be able to meet up by around 7 in the Valley. Let us know what you like, and we'll find a place. |

Afternoon Y'all.
Just hit a decent score. The son and I stopped by a local gun store and the timing was perfect as I grabbed the last 30 rounder for my AR as he was standing there handing them out. They don't even put them on the shelves. |
Marilyn and the Garage Queen in Leonardtown this morning

I remember my grandmother commenting how she would like to have enough that she didn't have to fix and eat frozen stuff. I LOVED the frozen hotdogs she used to give me.
Dad had my Uncle Ralph fed calves he bought at auction for us and we would split it with my uncle Jack. We would get a side of beef at a time and put it in the freezer. Dad said it cost $1.00 a lbs. all total and it was better beef. After we moved to our current house my Dad had passed and we only had a couple of packages of fruit and a couple of turkeys in the freezer. It was full of packages of ice to keep the electric bill down. When I sold it, our electric bill went down $20 a month. It was my Grandmothers freezer I remember from when I was 3 so it was VERY old. I also remember always having to defrost it, which meant unplugging it, let it stand with the door open, and then chip the packages of food out with an ice pick. We did have indoor plumbing. |
